My personal car is now officially "For Sale".
It has received mechanical restoration by myself with recent Fichel + Sachs clutch/pressure plate replacement . A history file dating back to the original owner in Colorado in 1967 is available is are my full and complete receipt accounting.
The car is original Alfa Romeo Pininfarina color 514 red and has been used for advertising shoots and had been invited to attend and was shown at the Greenwich Concours in 2012. Weber DCOE 1600cc-equipped as originally assembled into this chassis in July of 1967.
The vehicle has hundreds of new OEM parts...both large and small and comes complete with a factory Pininfarina hardtop fitted with new Classic Alfaweatherstrips. The Duetto even has a new windshield and headlight covers.
This Duetto is original and sympathetically restored to retain it's original appearance and operational characteristics in every respect. New Continental 165x15tireswith restored original steel "volcano-style" wheels come with the vehicle. Brand new OEM-style hubcaps....new valve stem seals.
The price is $46,000 firm...includinganoriginal and rarely offered for sale in North America Pininfarina hardtop. If the purchaser decides not to accept the hardtop with the car the price of myDuettowould therefore be $44,000. In that case the hardtop would be sold separately as would a host of valuable spares such as rebuilt generator, ewly rebuilt steering box by Highwoods Alfa (UK) and various other important spares..such as spare wheels....spare front and rear bumper sets, pare lighting assemblies and numerous other spares both large and small. Cosmetically the vehicle is in excellent Driver #2+ condition with a single silver dollar coin-sized rust spotexistentover the left rear wheel arch opening not plainly visible under the paint.
What little metal work involved in that repair does not detract with its' show appearance but might be considered down the road somewhere. I have not been in any hurry to have a small panel 'stitched' into the body... a spare new sheet metal arch imported from England for any eventual repair. There is no other known rust point on the entire chassis!
ThisDuettois ready for a cross-country trip at a moment's notice. Only the finest lubricants are used ...and this Duetto does have a rare cast aluminum oil filter assembly manufactured by Les Hurlock Engineering permitting a standard Fram PH-7 oil filter to be fitted efficiently and cleanly changed in mere minutes. The original oil filter assembly is included and is the only spare part included with the sale.
Vehicle is properly fitted with original Bosch JF-4 distributor and runs beautifully on original Lodge 2HL plugs and premium fuel. New ignition wires and everything on the vehicle works as designed and manufactured. The vehicle has no radio but is equipped with an external antenna mounted on the LF fender. All cast aluminum assemblies are clean. A auxiliary 4 psi fuel delivery pump has been installed and the tail pipe tubing over the rear axle has been wrapped with asbestos wrapping cloth. Ethanol-protected fuel lines have replaced the old standard fuel lines. The exhaust system has about 5k miles of use and still shows its original silver color in most spots.
