I have for sale a rare and desirable AMC Javelin AMX project car. With prices for the Big Three muscle and pony cars getting out of reach for a lot of folks, have a very nice alternative. AMC performance and special interest cars are starting to catch up I believe this is a solid investment opportunity. What you are bidding on is a 1972 AMC Javelin AMX -a factory triple black car. There were a total of 3220 AMXs produced in 72 which I believe is the lowest total of the 71-74 production.
Making it even more desirable is the options:Triple black, O Pack, C, uto, code 401 car. The car spent most of it's life in California and is very solid and complete. Your restoration has a good start because I have partially disassembled the car to address paint and body. It is a complete car with nothing missing as far as I know. It was a running and driving car when I bought it and I have included a picture of it when I brought it home.I drove it around the block, arked it and began the disassembly process. This is the way I address all cars that I buy that are not "done" cars. What you see is what you get with this car. It is a very solidcar with just a few issues that need to be addressed andthat are documentedin pictures. Any repairs that need to be doneare with rear of the car. First, here is perforation in the lowerquarter panels behind the rear wheelsas there is with most of these cars.. Only will require patch panels. Second is in the trunk area. A few small pin holes about pencil eraser size, perforation in the passenger side trunk/quarter panel that I have sand blastedtoremove the rusty area(picture is included) and the last beingdamage in the driver side shock mount area which was not rust but apparent damage from ablown out air shock which I am finding out was more common than you might believe. I have securedoriginal sheet metalfor the repairs and will be included. Other than these items this car is completely rust free, traight and solid. Floor pans, ockers, troughs, prons, attery tray area are flawless. I have taken apart many cars over the years including countless Mustangswhich nearly sent me to the emergency room trying to free a rusty bolt or fastener. This car was a breeze.
I have everything for this car that came offof it. I don't believe there is anything missing. In fact, here are many spares that will come with the car as well. The engine is at the machineshop and as of today, nothing has beentouched and that is the way it will come to you. It isa correct for the year 401 with mostly factory components other than the intake. It is currently.030 over. I have noidea if it is original to the car. The 727shifted through all the gears on the testdrive but I would recommend going throughit. The ram airbreather is there as well as factory exhaustmanifolds, istributorand other engine accessories.
I have collected a few new parts and installed some on the car which will come with the purchase. Here is a few things that I can think of:New tie rod ends, pper and lower ball joints, ll new Poly bushings, rakes, rake booster, ew emblems, ide marker lights and many more. Also I have invested close to $1500 in newinterior which can be seen in the pictures. I have brand new wiring harnesses for the under hood area. I have been collecting new AC parts includinghoses, vaporator, xpansion valve etc.
I am sure there are a lot of things I havn't remembered and I can assure you that you will purchase the car for a LOT less than I have invested in it butto be totally transparent, am not going to give the car away. I have other projects that I am more interested in pursuing right now and could use the space but for sure I believe that you can't go wrong with this car. Email me with questions or give me your number if you want me to call you. Thanks for your interest and good luck!
