Description

I am selling my clear title car which has the Michigan Paperwork. There has only been 2 owners according to my research. This is a complete classic car with a really nice drivetrain. All lights and electrical switches work fine. There is some rust areas that will need some work done on her for it to be a beautiful car. I get allot of looks when I take her to the shows and beach. The engine was used by AMC to keep up with the ford pinto sales which had great fuel economy. The world was going through an oil embargo/shortage so AMC contracted out the Engine building to VW and Audi who produced the EA827 in-line 4 cylinder engine. This is a very easy engine to work on and to get parts for. Porsche also used this type of engine. The transmission is the 3-speed Torque-Flite unit from Chrysler and the rearend has a Dana Unit which AMC loved because it is narrow and very strong. The axles are 5-lug.
What I have done to this car as of late is Change the OIL and Rotated the tires. The engine does run at a high idle which can be related to the carburetor needing cleaning or rebuilding. She runs nice though.
I drive her frequently. There is some rust on the upper fenders near the hood but can be repaired. The hood latch cable is broken and you need to use a pair of pliers to open the hood by pulling the cable. The tires are nice and the glass is good. The interior will need cleaning. The headliner looks new as does the gauges/cluster. The engine runs fine but it does idle high (carb clean or rebuilt)... The transmission is the 3-speed automatic torque-flite... The radio is the factory installed version and the glovebox looks great too.
This is what I would do to the car if I wanted to keep it for the long haul...::I would rebuild the carburetor or find a new oneI would repair the major rust spots on the tops of the fendersI would get the seats and rug professionally cleaned or purchase new carpeting and seat coversI would buy a new hood release handleI would buy the new plastic trim that fits under the steering wheel. This got broken when I pulled on the hood release too hardI would do more bodywork so it can be painted

Info on shipping of this vehicle is solely the responsibility of the buyer. I can assist in helping you load this car up on a tow dolley or trailer or you can simply drive her away. I have phone numbers of transportation companies that move vehicles all over the USA which should help you get the AMC Concord to you.
As a side note to why I am selling this car.. I originally bought this car to use the front suspension and Power Brakes for my 1967 AMC American Rambler but once it arrived to me I took one look at it and I decided not to destroy a perfectly good driving vehicle just because I want power brakes on my rambler. I ended up buying a Disc Brake conversion kit from Scarebird on ebay and now I don't need the Concord. My shop is about 10 miles away from my home and I drive this Concord to and from on a daily basis. I now have the Rambler running good and I don't need both cars for work transportation. I am selling this Concord for 1/2 of what I paid because I need the money to get my Rambler Painted.
My low reserve price is very reasonable and a good deal for the perfect AMC enthusiast.
