Trans Am Red, Z-Code 401ci Engine with 37864 Miles. All paperwork including window sticker, bill of lading, owner ID card, bill of sale, service & owner manuals, etc. It was ordered with EVERY option. Believed to have been special ordered for an AMC exec by 'Ben Carco's Bonanza American', Hollywood, CA. Bill of sale shows it being sold 'new' on 3/10/72 with 3549 miles from the same dealer. It is possibly the only SST with Cowl induction, as I was told by the previous owner. Hood insulation pad is factory original. Etched sill plates. A totally loaded, 401 SST. Engine tag: 410Z22. Door tag: 028595, 7279-7, 266R, D7, W028823. Has original mini spare & air bottle.
Was put into dry storage in 1982 for 12 years with 32000 miles. Stripped to metal & repainted 15 years ago. I bought it 10 years ago with 36,000 miles. Paint still shows nicely, but I would call it 'driver quality', has some small blemishes that shouldn't be too hard to fix. Two small rust spots are developing on each lower corner of the rear window and one on the lower passenger corner of the windshield shouldn't be a hard fix. Door hinges are tight with no play as you'd expect from a low mileage car. Basic maintenance done, such as fluid changes, water pump, brakes, shocks, new exhaust, tires, master cylinder, etc. Luggage rack removed at time of repaint. Have folder of receipts. Seat inserts replaced with duplicated factory pattern & color.
Runs & drives great with clean exhaust, the 401 engine gives it a great pick up. Super fun to drive and show at local meets.

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I've had during the past 11 years with my Javelin. It's always the one people migrate to at the shows, really stands out, especially when driving on the street! I've had lots of people get out of their car when stopped at a light and take pictures, not to mention the ones taken while driving!
