Description

1984 AMC Eagle Sport. Before there were SUVs, there was the Eagle. This is the original SUV. And-it's a 5 speed stick shift from the factory, incredibly rare. It's a 4WD hatchback wagon (not AWD). It's in 2 wheel drive until you select the 4WD. Much better on tires and fuel economy than AWD.
VIN 2CCCN3856EB724074Maroon outside and inCalifornia car, zero rust260K miles, we have owned and maintained it since 1995/137K miles, current registration, clean title4.2 liter (258cid) motor, same as a million jeeps5 speed manual transmissionPS, PB, tilt wheel, dual remote mirrors, variable intermittant wipers, rear window defrost/wash/wiperGauge package-tachometer, volts, oil pressure, vacuum, clock1 7/8" trailer hitch and trailer lights connectorA/CFog lightsAdjustable roof racksAM/FM/Cassette player (aftermarket)Alarm system with two remote transmitters (aftermarket)Spare tire, jack, tire chains, locking fuel cap, 4 sets keysHorn, lights, wipers all workAll glass goodTires-10K on front, 13K on rearMaintenance records, receipts, etc.Factory build sheetsAnd...a cassette with two of 1984's top albums, Van Halen's "1984" and Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA".
That's all the good stuff. Now for the bad:LF fender crinkled from collision with a bear (no lie), some other body scrapesDrivers seat condition poorCarpet and headliner poorWill eventually need passenger sunvisor rod replacedNeeds new exhaust downpipe gasketA/C, clock inopFuel gauge bounces aroundEarly computer carburetor control, not the smoothest setupOf course, it leaks slightly.
Please keep in mind that this is a 32 year old vehicle that has seen regular use as a ski car, lumber hauler, etc. Don't expect a show vehicle. Do expect a rare piece of American automotive history. I get comments on this car every time I take it somewhere.
If you are looking for a relatively unmolested example of the breed, here it is, and a stick shift to boot. This car is incredible in the snow, I have never been stuck. Tire chains are included, don't think I ever put them on.
Free pick up, if you want the car delivered you will need to contact a transport company and set up the pickup and delivery. I will drive the car to the pick up spot within 25 miles of my ZIP code, 95726. Probably the best pick up spot would be in Placerville, CA ZIP 95667.
