1980 Eagle 4X4 - slightly customized with 2 inch lift, ew 18 in. tires, ew split exhaust with dual flowmasters (gives the little 6 bangera bit of a growl). Awesome running and driving car.Believed to be 39,600 actual miles (see history below). I have converted the A/Cso it blows cold, utomatic fulltime 4X4, ew brakes including master cylinder, nstalled stereo FM/MP3/Aux hookups, peakers, inted windows (legal forMissouri), eplaced carburetor, ew plug wires, istributor, uel lines, rake lines, ower steering lines, adiator and hoses, emoved thevacuum controlledsmog limiter forsmoothing running, ew carpet, ew headliner,two-tone paint job (great driver quality not show quality), lushed all fluids, ransmission, ransfer case, rank case, ower steering, ifferential, tc...Basically - all mechanicals to the original motor updated so car could be reliable for my sons daily driver back and forth to school / work for the past few years. All mechanical work completed by SAE certified mechanic.
This car is a great driver for first time car enthusiast, olks that needs 4 wheel drive or a small tank to move through town - she is heavy, ever fast, ery sure footed, nd dependable. Now she has her issues too - she is 35 years old. I did not spend any time to restore creature comforts other than A/C system - so cruise control, ear window defogger, ower locks, tc....are inoperable. The engine, ransmission, rakes, X4, ights, orn, linkers, tereo, ipers (not washer), ork like they should.
Background:Ibought this car from 2nd owner who bought it at an estate auction. It was presented to have 32,000 actual miles - however - car did notcome withfull documentation (do have some)to support this claim. The original ownerkept car outside under car port for 32 years - 2nd owner bought to flip. The car was complete with owners manual and some original documentation, o rust, un bleached in and out (primarily front and rear section of car), unning on dry rotted original tires. As a joke, y plan was to buildthis car to be my sons first car. After much work and several years of driving we believe the mileage to be correct and currently at 39,600 miles - the car does not burn oil, nd all mechanicals were clean and although rubber/plastic parts severely dry rotted minimal wear was detected. My son has since graduate to a manual transmission and so this car is ready for a new owner.
Paint job is driver quality - in fact the trim is not on car with original plastic clips like they should be, ut my cheap body shop decided to use small rivets - I was a bit upset, ut then again trim is now secure. One trim piece is missing which was not riveted.
Interior is original - no tears or rips, ut original beautiful plaid if your into that look...LOL, arpet new, oor carpet original and faded, eadliner new, lastic components are brittle, ut there. windows manual roll up and down as they should, ocks are manual only. Please note windshield is cracked.
Car comes with original wheels and original dry rotted tires plus four very nice original hub caps - shoot that's worth something.
This is a neat old car that has many miles left to be driven.
Note: Heat and A/C work, uring rebuild we also replaced shocks, attery, lectronic modulator, runk lid actuators and I am sure I am missing a few more items - car is mechanically turn key.As I stated, built this for my sons first car so I wanted it reliable / safe. It istruly like a small tank - heavy, ure footed and afew rattles(it is a 1980 vintage eagle). It is not bad on gas but is not an economy car - gets in the high teens to low 20's MPG. If you want a cheap attention getter that can plow through mud, now and wherever a Jeep goes - this car is for you. My son was always getting comments like - "hey, y grandma drove that car" (part of the fun)....We have taken it to the Hot Rod Nationals in Springfield just for fun too...all seat belts function as they should - made my son take my teenage daughters to school in it too! LOL :)
Feel free to ask questions or come and inspect - my reserve is about half of what we have in the car - good luck and happy bidding.
