Description

1965 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII BJ8 for sale. This car has had many upgrades. This nice BJ8 has the Toyota 5 speed conversion. It also has Minilite wheels (5) with excellent Avon CR338R 195/65 tires. There have been steel fender vents (Rally type) installed in the front fenders to reduce the heat in the cockpit. This Austin Healey 3000 also has a Motolita steering wheel, high torque starter, Mallory distributor, nice aluminum valve cover and a tubular shock conversion. One major upgrade is the new, very rare, Ansa exhaust system that exits with two large chrome pipes. The car starts and runs great. It has had some under carriage work and it is solid. The car has been undercoated. The paint job is very nice. There a few very minor nicks and chips, nothing of any consequence. This MKIII also has a spin on oil filter, aluminum radiator, alternator conversion, badge bar with driving lights, upgraded sway bar with poly bushes, 5 bladed cooling fan, new armorcord trunk kit, quick release gas cap, fancy embroidered floor mats, new door panels and rear kick panels, new upgrade brake servo unit, 3 point seat belts, new black carpeting and an electric cooling fan. It also has the original boot cover. The seats have been refurbished and have new red vinyl covers with the correct “checked” pattern. All the upgrades alone cost well over $10,000.00. This BJ8 has a beautiful front shroud and grill. It has a nice original burled dashboard. The speedometer has been replace and shows only 335 miles and does have a tendency to stick at lower speeds. This car appears as though it has never been hit. The chrome, overall is good, but there is some crazing in the chrome, on the windshield frame. The engine runs great with very good hot oil pressure.

Now for what the car needs. It needs the interior dealt with. It has a red rear squab that needs to be installed. The console has been cut for a radio and that with the center armrest needs to be installed. It needs some work to finish off the convertible top and some windlace around one door. The heater box needs to be installed. Most of the work required on this car is cosmetic. This is a very nice runner/driver and not a concours car, offered at a very reasonable price. I am selling this BJ8 MKIII “as is”, with no implied warranty. A $1000.00 deposit is required with 48 hours of auction’s end. Complete balance due 10 days after auction’s end.
