For sale is this 1963 Austin Healey 3000 BJ7, she has the 132 bhp, 2,912 cc OHV inline six-cylinder engine with a four-speed manual transmission amd factory overdrive. The paint is a beautiful two toned scheme; gun metal gray silver fleck over black side panels. Although this is not a factory paint scheme, it should have been. She turns heads where ever she goes, it is a truly beautiful example of this unique big Healey transitional model BJ7.
You should already know that the Austin-Healey 3000 is one of the most iconic and popular British sports cars ever built. The 3000 was introduced in 1959 to replace the 100-6, and it offered the same charm as its predecessor, along with some welcome updates, chief among which was a new 2,912-cubic centimeter inline six-cylinder engine.
The 3000 was a hit both in showroom floors and on the race track, carrying on the commercial and competition successes of its predecessor. The BJ7 is recognized as a transitional model for the mark. It represents the transition between the early post war sports car and the modern trimmed out model. In 1962 (or 1963), a second-series 3000, dubbed the Mark II, was introduced, and it offered a handful of updates over the existing model, most notably a curved-windshield and windup windows, making the car much more hospitable for longer drives. With the Mark II, the two-seater was abandoned and only a 2+2 was built. The Austin-Healey 3000, a sports car that is just as excellent to drive as it is to behold, remains treasured among enthusiasts as one of the greatest British cars of its era, and it is a car that no collection should be without.
This Austin-Healey is in incredible condition, having accumulated less than 1000 miles following its restoration, This vehicle includes all of the classic appointments such as: chrome ash tray, chrome door handles, dual chrome side mounted fender driving mirrors, chrome fender accents, chrome front bumper and grill, chrome headlight bezel, chrome hood scoop, chrome gas cap, chrome trunk handle, chrome bumpers, chrome wire wheels with knock offs, chrome trunk hinges, chrome windshield wipers, top boot cover, black vinyl soft top, stainless steel exhaust, four-speed manual transmission with factory overdrive. The independent front suspension with wishbones and coil springs keeps the Healey between the lines and the rigid rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs makes the ride smooth The stopping power comes from hydraulic front disc and rear drum brakes. The finish is excellent throughout the vehicle. I have included the Hagerty's Valuation report for the vehicle. It is without doubt between a 3 and a 2 on the Hagerty scale, placing its value clearly over the $45,000 mark
There are two minor imperfections in the paint, they can be seen in the full set of pictures found in my drive folder. Regretfully, I can't figure out how to put a static link in this listing, so email a question, and I will respond with a link to the full set of detailed pictures.
