Description

Up for auction is a 1956 Austin-Healey 100M / LeMans conversion. Not a "factory M" nor a dealer installed "LeMans Conversion". Restoration was done in the late 70's or early 80's - I have owned the car since 1990. Although an older restoration I consider the car to be very presentable with a few exceptions. Car has all the M "stuff". Note in the photos there is a paint problem on the left rear fender - an area of aproximately 3" x 5". I would think this would be a straight forward repair for a shop with computer color matching. During my ownership I have replaced all hubs and wire wheels, lutch, ebuilt master cylinder and fuel pump. The cylinder head has recently been reworked with new valves, uides, eals and hardened seats. 120 - 130 psi all cylinders. Evans waterless coolant installed - higher boiling point and never needs replacing. Pertronix electronic ignition is installed. The oil filter has a spin-on conversion. This involved no modification and the original parts go with the car. Air box and "100 M" plaques are original not repropductions. Surface rust on the underside of the floorpans is all I can see. I see no corrosion on the chassis. The badges do not come with the car but shop manual, wner's manual, ox of trophies and abox of miscellaneous parts are included.The mileage indicated is most probably since the restoration was completed. A little TLC will make this a very, ery nice 100. Sale is due to another project. Please email any questions before bidding. A deposit of $500 by Paypal is due at end of auction.
