Description

Rare Super Complete, riginal, airly Solid and Straight 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 out from almost 20 years of Dry Dusty Storage! Not Running and Both Carbs have been recently removed. They have Very Nice Tight Shaft/Bushing but were very gummed up from setting and they have been sent out for professional cleaning and rebuilding(will be back next week)! Pressure still in Hydraulic Pedals, ngine Turns and Tranny Shifts Smooth! What You See is What You Get! Comes with over $3k in New Old Stock Type Restoration parts to help You Get it Finished And Get it On The Road Again!

I Bought This/Traded my Freshly Restored 100/6 BN7 for this BJ8 plus cash with a Gentleman who had gotten it from it's (1st or 2nd?) Pennsylvania owner after coming out of long term storage. It is virtually that often dreamed of but seldom found, 0 Year Old "Barn Find" and it still had most of it's original dirt and dust on it! (some photos of it shown later in this listing at end of photos). It is a Great Survivor Candidate because of it's Completeness and is Very Straight and Solid for a "Big Healey"! The Engine turns by hand, ransmission shifts easily into all 5 gears(including reverse) and all 4 Wheels Roll. Thanks to a leaky seal or two underneath overtime the center underside of the car is in amazing near rust-free and straight original condition. For those seeking perfection it would also be a fairly easy restoration project as it is, ue to it's near perfectly straight and un-twisted frame/frame rails as I can find No Evidence of front or rear lower frame or shroud damage from prior accidents. Most of the rust is in the more commonly found area of middle inner/outer sills (bad inner and outer rockers). I also appears to have fairly good door, runk and hood shut panel gaps (except front driver's door). It also appears to have two Savable out-riggers and two partially rusted away out-riggers(should be replace in future)! It has mostly very good floors but will need outer rockers for sure and I would also do the inner rockers while you are in there doing it to make sure that it's done correctly. I have seen over the past 6 months or more recently a couple Very Badly Rusty Big Healey's (mostly the less valuable 100/6's) appearing on ebay and sell for in the $12K-20K in range and they needed just about every thing replaced including some of their frame rails, hrouds, enders and most of their floors. This car could get by with having a few patches or some stop-gap Por-15 rust-proofing done on the two partially bad out-riggers and just the new outer rockers welded in and be "Good To Go" for a long while with dry inside storage. I sprayed all the under frame units and bolts, he lower body joints and all fender beaded seems with 4-5 cans high quality rust inhibitor/preventive oil to stop or slow any oxidation that can't be seen in the many usual "Trouble Areas"! Their is no Visible Aluminum to steel oxidation in and fender to shroud attaching points! With-in a week or two you can be driving this car if you opt to do the rust repair at a later date
