In 1969, nder the ownership of British Leyland, he Mini was given a facelift by stylistRoy Haynes, ho had previously worked forFord. The restyled version was called the Mini Clubman, nd has a squarer frontal look, sing the same indicator/sidelight assembly as theAustin Maxi. The Mini Clubman was intended to replace the upmarket Riley and Wolseley versions. A new model, ubbed the 1275 GT, as slated as the replacement for the 998cc Mini Cooper (the 1,275cc Mini Cooper S continued alongside the 1275 GT for two years until 1971). The Clubman Estate replaced the Countryman and Traveller. The original "round-front" design remained in production alongside the Clubman and 1275 GT.
