Description

1989 Austin Mini Mayfair with 23, 00 original, documented miles from new, only 2 previous owners. Car spent most of it's life in England where it was always kept in the in the garage and made occasional trips to the grocery store, some years covering less than 300 total miles. I have the original bill of sale, lots of maintenance records and many of the annual MOT certificates which show mileage. The paintwork on the car is original and shows beautifully, only a couple of very minor blemishes. Other than an upgraded stereo the interior is all original and in excellent condition. The 998cc engine fires up first time and runs very well, this is the 4th Mini I have owned and the only one that does not leak any fluids. The disc brakes up front do a great job of bringing the car to a halt and with the wider 12 inch wheels (freshly powder coated last month) and tires the cornering is really amazing! Mechanically the car is stock, the engine has never been out of the car or apart, only items such as sparks plugs, wires, points etc. have been changed. The floors on the car are rock solid, no issues at all, the tiny spot at the bottom of one A pillar is the worst spot on the car. Cosmetically several items have been added to the car over the years such as the chrome bumpers, grille, fog lights and polished wheel arch covers which give it a bit more shine and the Cooper badging fools most people into thinking it is a real Cooper. This is a very usable classic that draws a crown where ever you take it, it is not a concours vehicle but shows very well. This has to be one of the cleanest, original Minis available in the country, hate to sell it but need funds for a Healey restoration.
