I have owned this 1952 Austin Sheerline limousine for twenty five years and it has been parked inside the back of my garage since then. It has always been my intention to partially restore this really cool car but circumstances have changed and I am now offering it for sale. Most Sheerlines (sedans and the rarer limousines) weredestroyed in the 70's and 80's in order to give up their desirable Lucas headlights! This car is now 63 years old and well worth saving. I'm glad I was able to preserve it all these years in a dry garage.
The 6 cyl Austin engine is virtually bullet proof and is in good running condition. 4 speed column shift. Brand new fuel pump and 2 brand new 6 volt batteries (car is 12v). Car runs and drives. The Sheerline and later Princess models come with a special hydraulic jacking system that elevates the whole car 3 inches off the ground for tire changes and maintenance (see photo).
The chassis on this car is built like a tank and the steel body is built around a wooden frame. The carwill need a full cosmetic restoration. Originally had a leather front seat, West of England" cloth on the rear and headliner and wool carpets. The interior wood is still usable and I have acquired a full set of dash knobs as well as a very decent steering wheel (photo). Included is the owner's manual, arts manual, ervice manual and an almost complete original tool kit (photos).
Speedo shows 06927 miles but actual mileage is unknown.
Clear California title in my name.

I hope this fairly rare car will find a good home and be put back to the condition it deserves!
