Texas Classic Cars Of Dallas is proud to showcase this astonishing 1965 Bentley S3.Here is a good, lean example of a '65 Bentley S3 Saloon Right Hand Driv, ery attractively finished in Dark Gray and Silver Metallic, ith ST James Red leather interior, nd color scheme which suits the car very well indeed. In Great condition, ooking very smart, ith deep shine to the paintwork, xcellent chrom, equipped with wooden dashboard, utomatic transmission, ower windows, ower steering, lim white walls, orking air conditioning, old down tray, anity mirrors, adio and lots of patina. Excellent car and mechanically sound, he interior is beginning to show signs of wear. This is a lovely S3 Saloon which is running and driving wel, it was purchased from the 1st owner of ten years and then from the long term owners of over 40 year, she retains a good oil pressure and a good idle.
There are very few cars that look as nice as this one, he had a full body restoration in the 80’s and has retained a great look since then. It runs and drives great and looks astonishin, his car turns heads and has people stopping by just to check it out. The paint work is great quality with minor dings from driving, he V8 runs strong with a good shifting 4 speed automatic transmissio, his car just feels like a cloud on any road. Don’t pass on this great deal of a lifetime.
The S3 was first announced and displayed at the Paris Motor Show October 1962, he production cars were given a facelift and the Silver Cloud III and Bentley S3 were introduced. The most obvious visual feature was the twin headlamp arrangement in what was virtually an unchanged body style. Four headlamps provided more illumination and made it easier for Rolls-Royce to pass the latest North American lighting regulations. Also this layout had been chosen for the next generation Silver Shadow and this provided a convenient way of bridging the visual gap between the old and the new. The side lamps and flashers were combined and mounted in the noses of the front mudguards: the earlier cars had separate side lamps on the top of the mudguards and used the fog lamps also as flashers. The radiator was lowered by 1.5 inches and the bonnet sloped downwards to suit, hereby improving the driver’s close-to-car vision. A detail seen in some cars nowadays was the addition of a chrome strip on the front mudguards along the swage line above the wheel opening. This was because the mudguard was not a single pressing and was welded at this point: it was easier to fit the chrome strip than to achieve the desired finish to the paint.
Internally, ndividual front seats became standard and allowed more leg room for rear passengers, here was also some reshaping of the rear seats. The heating/ ventilation system was upgraded, here were extra radio controls and a number of other such details were improved. Operating: lighter power steering, ore powerful engine, orse-power increased 7 percent by employing a higher compression ratio, :1 instead of 8:1 and larger carburetors to give higher performance - improved acceleration and a top speed of 115 mph with no loss of economy, hat’s fast for such a big car, or the American market an engine "breather" to reduce air pollution. At the end of 1965, he Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow and Bentley T-Series are introduced, ringing an end to the production of the Silver Cloud and Bentley S-Series.
The standard S3 was built in the following quantities per models:1962-65Bentley S3: 1286 (1 drophead coupé by Mulliner Park Ward)Bentley S3 long wheelbase: 32 (7 with coachbuilt bodies by James Young)
This beautiful Bentley has had only 3 owners. The first purchased it new in England. The second lived in Texas and has owned it since it was about 10 years old. The current owner purchased it during an estate sale.
The second owners took the car to several car shows and you can see by the awards, t did very well.
You can see how clean the doors areunderneath.
The original leather seats are showing their age. Some really good leather restorer would bring them back a bit.
The headliner is in excellent condition.
Rear side vanity mirrors.
Pull down trays and ashtrays.
