Description

No Reserve AuctionThis is a great example of a very nice everyday reliable BMW 2002. It is very original with the exception of much improved cooling system to make this car super reliable.I bought this car 4 months ago and immediately decided to take care of all the usual suspects since it is in great condition and spent close to $3, 00 in parts such as small valve cover, oil switch and timing cover oil leaks, small seepage of coolant from the old radiator after the car cooled down and other small issues so I can drive her everyday. Below is the list of all the items orderd from Bavauto which were replaced: 1- Valve cover gasket 2- Timing cover gaskets 3- Oil Switch 4- BMW oil Filter 5- K&N air Filter 6- Liqui Moly synthetic oil 7- Distributor cap and rotor 8- New Ignition point 9- New Bosch coil10- New Bosch spark plug wire set11- Set of 4 new OEM Bosch super ultra12- Water pump13- Themostat with 170 degree celcius14- Evans waterless coolant 2.5 Gallons15- Aluminum 2 row radiator16- Electric radiator fan with adjustable temperature thermostat17- Both motor mounts18- New 15"BBS style mesh rims and tires19- Driver side door rubber seal/ gasket ( it was a pain in the neck and shoulder to do, literally! )20- Pioneer 6700 Series Bluetooth and audio with noise cancelling microphone and 4 Pioneer speakers21- New Light bulbs all around the car except headlights22- Fuel filter23- Windshield wipers24-refinished the wiper arms in satin Black25- replaced cracked front signal housings with OEM and new bulbsIt took me about couple weeks to order all parts and about 30 hours to do the work on and off when I had time but it was done with patience and attention to details. Even the block was drained from the left side of the block below cylinder #4 and left for 2 days to make sure there was no water residue before using the "Evans Waterless coolant" so this way there is never any pressure in the cooling system. She runs and drives beautiful, goes uphill 80 mph in 5'th gear and still gains speed at ~3, 00 rpm. Starts every time quickly and automatic choke engages until warmed up. Does not smoke and shifts smoothly. It has matching block and VIN numbers. I am sure the engine was rebuilt all though I don't know when.I dove her approximately 4, 00 miles so far over past few months after i got all the work done. She is one super reliable 2002 unlike most of them that I have owned that need to be tinkered with constantly since I addressed all the usual suspects. I owned so many, over 30 of these ever since I was 18 and this one drives like its about 3 years old!!!Seems to me that she has been repainted at one point at least over 7 to 10 years ago and the paint shows well and shiny with the exception of few bubbles ( all shown in pictures) and only one rust spot in the front valance shown in picture ( common on these due to the leaves and debris blocking the drainage between the radiator support and front nose.)The rest of the car including Spare tire well, Gas tank, Rockers, inner fenders, shock towers and floor-board (which are all usual rust areas on these models that effect it structurally) are all rust free also as shown. The dash has one crack on the left side of cluster, otherwise in good condition. All gas gauge, blinker and high beam lights and temperature gauge, speedometer and tachometer work, the odometer does but sometimes when it wants to.All suspension and brakes are in good working order with no vibrations. The average MPG is 25 combined.Call me with your questions, you may come and see it either in Pittsburg or San Francisco depending on my schedule and where we can meet. All though i would never recommend driving a 40 year old car on a long distance trip, I can assure you once you have driven her that you will have the confidence to go across the USA in this beauty. My cell number is (323)422-4956If desired the final bidder can request to have all the rust and bubbles fixed and have a turbo style front spoiler installed for an additional $1, 00 to the final auction value. I can have the work done within 7 to 10 days by "Federal Auto Body" in Concord, California and you may pay the shop directly for their work after the vehicle is paid for.Good Luck, oorosh
