Where do I start: This is my 1971 BMW 2002 in Colorado orange. I bought it from the second owner who took decent care of it but since I bought it I had the car completely repainted in the original color (expensive paint job) I had the engine rebuilt (please look at pictures) transmission gone through All suspension bushings are new (other than the shocks). Motor mounts transmission mount etc. While the engine and transmission was out I had new fly wheel new clutch new clutch master new brake master new brake pads new hoses new belts rebuilt alternator new alternator bushings new starter (not rebuilt) new carpet new headliner and the list goes on. I spent thousands and thousands of dollars on this car and now I'm letting it go for someone else to enjoy. I also replaced the exhaust system with a NOS genuine BMW muffler new center pipe new mounts new exhaust hangers etc. etc. I also had the original Solex carburetor rebuilt and installed. Trust me the solex is far superior in quality than the weber of similar size. Only reason people upgraded to webers back in the day was because the Solex new cost over $600 from BMW when you could buy a replacement weber for $100. Anyway one drive in the original Solex equipped engine and you know it was designed for that car. I also had the new water pump installed. New center support bearing new Flex disc drive shaft U-joint balanced drive shaft. Again I spent way too much money and I don't want to think about it. Afterall it is a 44 year old car and who knows how many miles were in those old parts. I'm not the original owner and so I will be lying to you if I said I knew. I also had the front and rear windshield gaskets replaced when they took the windows out to paint the car.
This car runs and drives fantastic. I didn't replace the tires and the shocks but you can still drive it like it is no worries. It even has the original Michelin tire in the spare tub. The car has no rust that I can find. It was a solid car to begin with when I bought it. It is pretty much bone stock with all numbers matching chassis engine title etc. Please understand that this is a 44 year old car that is not fully restored but a very desirable all around beautiful car. I make friends at every traffic light. Car comes with some extra tune up parts a set of new mud flaps some odds and ends and the complete set of outside trim pieces that go around the entire car. Some of the pieces are new and some old.
This is not just a car it is a character of life. It's a car to put a smile on your face when you are down or take it for a spin and watch how people react (sometimes embarrassing when people scream at you in a positive way). This is not a car for you if you are picky and worried why there is a gap between the fender and the door why is the headliner is not originals why is there a scratch on the bumper etc. etc. I am an individual and don't have the luxury to jack around with anyone. If you likea proper BMW 2002 and a cool guy I invite you to bid on this car but if you are the kind who like to give others headache please stay away from this car. All sales are final and please understand that I can't provide any warranty. You are welcome to come and test drive if you like. Please look at the pictures. The car is just as nice underneath. No under coating no floor chopping patching or repairs ever done under the car. The radio doesn't work. I don't know if it is connected.
Please ask me any and all questions before placing a bid. All sales are final. I require that you leave me a 10% deposit within 24 hour of auction end via paypal. The car is to be picked up within 7 days of auction end and needs to be fully paid. I have clear TX title in my name. I reserve the right to end the auction early and sell the car outside of ebay. All the best.
