This is a great example of a very nice everyday reliable 1973 BMW 2002 Roundie. It is anything but original with 292 Shreik cam, 0 side-draft Weber carburetors, oly urethane bushings, ilstein Sport shocks, nd super heavy duty springs, lectric fan and 528i radiator for much improved cooling system to make this car super reliable.
I bought this car 4 months ago and immediately decided to take care of all the usual suspects since it is in great condition and spent close to $3,000 in parts such as small valve cover, il switch and timing cover oil leaks, mall seepage of coolant from the old radiator after the car cooled down and other small issues so I can drive her everyday. Below is the list of all the items orderd from Bavauto which were replaced:
1- Valve cover gasket 2- Timing cover gaskets 3- Oil Switch 4- BMW oil Filter 5- K&N air Filter 6- Liqui Moly synthetic oil 7- Distributor cap and rotor 8- New Ignition point 9- New coil10- New Bosch spark plug and performance wire set11- Set of 4 new OEM Bosch super ultra12- Water pump13- Themostat with 170 degree celcius14- Flushed and refilled coolant 3 Gallons15- 528i radiator16- Electric radiator fan with adjustable temperature thermostat17- Both motor mounts18- New 15"BBS style mesh rims and tires19- Driver side and passenger door rubber seal/ gasket20- Navigation with Bluetooth, luetooth audio and live traffic and speed limit info21- New Light bulbs all around the car except headlights22- Fuel filter23- Windshield wipers24-new wiper arms25- replaced cracked front signal housings with OEM and new bulbs26- new interior done customs with recaro seats and custom center console.27- Dog-leg 5 speed from 2002 turbo model.
I am sure I am forgetting something.
It took A few weeks to order all parts and about 45 hours to do the work on and off when I had time but it was done with patience and attention to details. Even the block was drained from the left side of the block below cylinder #4 and flushed the cooling system.
She runs and drives beautiful, oes uphill 80 mph in 5'th gear and still gains speed like a 6 cinder ~ 4,200 rpm. Starts every time quickly and automatic choke engages until warmed up.
Does not smoke and shifts smoothly.
It does not have matching block and VIN numbers.
I dove her approximately 1,500 miles so far over past few months after i got all the work done.
She is one super reliable 2002 unlike most of them that I have owned that need to be tinkered with constantly.
The rest of the car including Spare tire well, as tank, ockers, nner fenders, hock towers and floor-board are all rust free also as shown.
The dash has a. I've dash cap and otherwise in good condition. All gas gauge, linker and high beam lights and temperature gauge, peedometer and tachometer work properly.
All suspension and brakes are in good working order with no vibration and the car feels real stiff. It used to be a track car since when I put the carpet and interior in. I saw the holes where the roll cage used to be which i covered.
The average MPG is 21 combined due to LSD and close ratio transmission.
Call me with your questions, ou may come and see it either in Pittsburg or San Francisco depending on my schedule and where we can meet.
All though i would never recommend driving a 40 year old car on a long distance trip, can assure you once you have driven her that you will have the confidence to go across the USA in this beauty.

If desired the final bidder can request to have all the rust and bubbles fixed and have a turbo style front spoiler and fiberglass rear bumper installed for an additional $1,500 to the final auction value. I can have the work done within 7 to 10 days in California and you may pay the shop directly for their work after the vehicle is paid for.
Good Luck,
Koorosh

Correction:
There are no rust and bubbles on this car, hos is the original listing which I completed after the front nose piece was replaced .
The car is 100% rust free
The $1,500 would be for painting the front original turbo style German spoiler and fiberglass rear bumper attached and painted to match the car which are included in the auction at no extra cost with the car.
