Description:Up for auction is this highly desirable and absolutely exquisite 1987 BMW L6 2 Door Coupe with a 3.4 Liter SOHC 12 Valve I6 Bosch Motronic 1.0 Fuel Injection engine capable of producing 182 hp (the famed M30B34 engine with a bore of 92.0 mm, stroke of 86.0 mm and a displacement of 3428 cc).

This vehicle is basically a 1 owner car having been owned and driven by my Mother until I bought it from her over ten years ago and brought it to NC. It lived most of its life in Dallas TX and Scottsdale AZ, o being a Southern car and kept in the South it's whole life, way from the snow and salt of the northeast, here is hardly any rust on the car! And best of all it was always garaged and pampered since the day it was purchased! Look at the original purchase receipt and window sticker for the car and you will see it was purchased for $51,025 back on June 5, 987 and was built in January 1987 (see driver's side door picture) so it will celebrate it's 29th birthday in just a few months! Throw a big party for it on it's birthday as it certainly deserves it!

It is a good, lean car and will provide many more years of faithful service to it's next owner. It comes with everything you see in the pictures below and even more! All books, anuals, he toolkit with all its Tools, brand new Full Size Spare tire, ven the rechargeable glove compartment flashlight with BMW Logo...everything you could ever imagine and then some! The vehicle has Every single Service Record from the day it was purchased as well as the original Window Sticker, wner's Manual and Purchase receipts. It also comes with all 6 original BMW Keys including one with a built in flashlight. Everything that came with the car the day it was purchased is included in this auction so do take some time for the page to fully load and look at all 100 pictures below, ot just the 24 pictured above!

The car has been impeccably maintained and over $100,000 has been invested in making certain everything works on this car at all times and with no expense spared since it's initial purchase. I have invested even more since my purchase of it and have used Korman BMW to perform some major overhauls to the vehicle. Both the front and rear A/C units have been completely replaced and changed over and the engine has undergone a complete rebuild 7,000 miles ago at 214,516 miles. 4 new tires were purchased for the car (at 204,432 miles) so the tires on this car are in excellent condition and have hardly any miles on them and at that time the rims were upgraded with the added bonus of an immense savings on tire replacement. I do still retain the original 4 TRX rims and will be listing them for sale as well, ut I want to give the high bidder and winner of this auction the first opportunity to acquire them, f desired, or completeness and originality. New brake pads and rotors were also installed at 214,516 miles. The car has never been in an accident and is in excellent cosmetic condition despite the normal rock chips to the front bumper and hood of the car and despite where the clear coat has worn off on the sunroof and trunk lid.

In addition to being a daily driver I have driven this car to NYC and back several times a year as well as out west to TN and down to FL so I feel very confident in its being as mechanically sound as a car many years younger (the major items are only 7,000 miles old!) I also own a newer BMW but always prefer driving this one on long road trips...but be prepared, ou will get lots of attention as their aren't too many Shark nose BMWs on the roads these days and enthusiasts love conversing about it and reminiscing!

As you can probably imagine, his car is Fully Loaded! The only option on this vehicle in 1987 was the Limited Slip Differential which added $390 to the base price of the car. An after market BW200 Radar Detector (designed exclusively for BMW vehicles) was installed around this time as well (though since it too is almost 30 years old, wouldn't rely on its effectiveness given how radar technology has changed).

The exterior color is a gorgeous shade of Silver BMW chose to call Salmon Silver and the interior is full Leather, nd when BMW says full leather, hey mean Full Leather, ven the dash and the headliner are leather! The interior is also in beautiful condition but the seats do have a few rips and tears and they do exhibit the normal signs of wear one would expect from a car purchased and driven daily since 1987. Note the picture of the drivers side bolster as it shows the most wear. The dash has minimal curling and has always had a custom carpet cover laid on top of it to protect it from fading when parked in a sunny parking lot. Very wise investment as the dash looks great!

Since this was the flagship BMW coupe for the 1987 model year just about every creature comfort imaginable at the time was standard, hings like Power Front Seats with memory were standard, s was Cruise Control, ower Tilt/Telescoping Steering Column, uto Dimming Rearview / Driver Side Mirror, sliding/pop-up Sunroof with leather liner, dedicated rear A/C unit with a center A/C cooled beverage chiller / ice box between the rear seats, /C vents for rear seat occupants, sunshade for rear occupants and an 8 speaker "premium" sound system to name a few of the more popular and desired features which come on this car. Of special note, he radio will not accept the security code but the radio antenna does go up and down and the sunroof and rear windows are unbearably slow to open and close. Leather seats exhibit a good bit of wear and tear (normal wear and tear if you ask me) and what one expects in a car of this age which was used as a daily driver! The body of the car exhibits small scratches, ings, ust etc., o look closely at the pictures above and below and ask questions before bidding. The rust around the windshield occurred when the windshield was professionally replaced (not very professional in my book so had Korman BMW redo it as the are the best in the country...and yes, t's worth shipping your BMW to them for service!)
