Description

Nice looking 1970 Buick Wildcat with the torque monster 455. This is a great looking car that's clean, un to drive, nd gets a lot of attention. It has been with me for a few years during which time I've replaced all the seals in the transmission, ut on new brakes, rake lines, oses, ires, ower top plumbing & pumps, ires, lugs, gnition, il pump, lternator, iming cover, rank seal, eather stripping, tc. The carburetor (original quadra-jet) has not been simply rebuilt but beautifully restored to as-new condition by 'Sparky.' As you can see the car looks great and as far as I know doesn't have any rot. I'd say it's pretty uncommon to find an early 70s car without serious body rust. The interior is in surprisingly good shape with no rips or tears in the upholstery and the carpet appears to be a fairly recent replacement that's in good shape. No cracks in the dash pad. Starts right up on the first blip of the key, nless of course it's been sitting for a while and the bowl has dried out (few priming pumps and she's roaring to go).
As for known defects I'd say the paint looks good at 10 feet but up close there are imperfections here and there. It's obviously a repaint and you can see overspray on the frame. The car is AC equipped but the AC does not work. At a minimum the compressor needs a new clutch. I can't say beyond that as it hasn't worked since I've had the car. There is a leak in the exhaust manifold/downpipe coupler that I haven't gotten around to fixing. It is noticeable but not obnoxious and the guys at the local muffler shop told me it wouldn't be much of an issue. No oil leaks from the engine or transmission. There's a very small leak from the PS gearbox and by small I mean maybe a tea-spoon every few months. The fuel gauge doesn't work and I haven't gotten around to figuring out if the problem is with the sender or the gauge itself. Period correct AM/FM radio in place but not wired up. The weatherstripping on the passenger side door needs attention. One side of the top needs the tensioner adjusted in that it wrinkles a little bit (functions perfectly normally however). In general with a car this age there are no shortage of little things that could be refined or upgraded but it's good to go as-is for cruising around town or taking on a trip.
These are super rare and this one is a real head turner and an all around great cruiser. I have boxes of extra parts that go along with it as well as a full shop and body manual (electronic version). I would very much prefer to sell this to someone who has a chance to come by and look it over (Nashville, N). I want you to know what you're buying.
