1968 Buick GS400 Convertible One of 2. 54 Built in 1968 Selling my 1968 Buick GS400 Convertible. Medium Teal Blue Mist with Pearl White Interior. white top. This is the real GS400! I bought the car from a local body shop that received the car in a multi-Muscle car swap. He had no history on the car other than the VIN tags and serial numbers different parts of the car. The Buick had been sitting for years in garaged or barns in New Mexico. NO RUST. All the original moldings on the car which caught my eye. I’d never seen a full trim package on a Buick GS before. Per the trim tags. I brought the car back to it’s factory colors for the interior and exterior. There are many more pictures available while the restoration was in process. Mileage is over 100K This is what I’ve had done to the car: *Engine was gone through and mechanically restored *Engine compartment detailed *New paint. car was stripped to bare metal *New Seats and Carpet through Legendary Interiors *New Robbins Convertible top with glass rear window *New rubber seals on tops doors and trunk *Factory brakes where rebuilt *Top mechanism was refurbished *Dash replaced with a factory pad. *New Tires : Coopers GTs · I have a folder with all the receipts Negatives That I’m Aware of : · missing the hoses from the air cleaner to the valve cover · spare tire and jack assembly missing. · Could use a front disc brakes · Grille has hairline cracks · Some stainless pieces have dings This has been a long-term project and unfortunately life changes cause the need to sell due to downsizing to homes with out storage for 4 wheeled toys Contact Brian at 505-414-8137 Albuquerque. New Mexico. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History of the Buick GS The Buick Gran Sport was launched in 1964 as Buick’s answer to the Pontiac GTO. By 1968 it was on its second-generation body that would carry it through 1972. and the end of mainstream muscle. The 1968 Buick GS was based on a Skylark Custom and available with a 350-cid V-8 with 4-barrel and 280 horsepower. It offered three- and four-speed manual transmissions and two-speed automatic transmission. The California GS added a vinyl roof and was only available with an automatic transmission. The GS 400 offered the 340-horsepower. 400-cid V-8 and was available in coupe and convertible. Three- and four-speed manual transmissions were offered along with a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Cold-air Stage I and Stage II induction was available from January 1968. and was the performance option of choice.
