This is an original Super Wildcat Riviera with factory dual quads.
I bought thecar at an auction in Indiana. Records show the car had most of its driving in the first ten years of its life. The car had been titled in Virginia until now. The car was very dusty from some kind of barn storage. The interior cleaned up fairly well. Door panels are nice. Back and passenger seats are fair. Drivers seat is worn through. Interior chrome on window switches door handles et. is rusty but all available repro. The power windows all work when a battery is connected.one really cool option is dual sets of door handles- the standard set at the frontof the armrestlocation then a second set at the back of the armrest accessible to back seat occupants!
The car is very solid with the only rust through at the right rear lower quarter. There is a end dent on the driver door...like someone backed into a pole while driving backwards with the door open?? Everything else is solid and straight. The top surfaces are starting to peel so the car needs to get into a paint shop or dry storage! Bumpers are cloudy and light rust. Need rechrome. I backed a trailer into the right rear wheel opening and bent the stainless trim. Should be repairable.
The engine is stuck. We have not taken anything apart to determine the cause. Everything is there all the way to the factory chrome air cleaner and the finned aluminum valve covers!
All glass is good. Tires are bad but hold air well.
This is an excellent restoration candidate!
The standard Riviera engine for 1964 was the 425 cubic inch "Wildcat 465" V-8 which produced 340 horsepower @ 4400 rpm and 465 lb. ft. torque @ 2800 rpm. Optionally for just $139.75 more a more powerful "Super Wildcat" engine was available producing 360 horsepower @ 4400 rpm. Just 2122 Rivieras left the factory with the more potent power plant which included dual carburetors chrome air cleaner and finned aluminum valve covers.
