1985 Buick Grand National - this is not your Father's Monte Carlo!!!
I received this vehicle on trade for my 1968 Chevelle Malibu. I was going to keep it, ut have decide G-body's are not my thing and would prefer to have the garage space to finish working on my 1971 Barracuda instead.
History: This vehicle was in storage for the last 4 years in Omaha after coming here from Maryland, s part of a military transfer that was never completed. From what I gather this is a pretty hot sleeper. Previous owner pulled the motor to freshen everything up and prepare for the yet-to-be purchased intercooler installbut got back from being deployed, ad a life event, ndsold the car to his friend where it sat for 4 years with multiple other project cars, ntil I got it.From what I understand, t just needsan intercooler to finish it off and put back together. I had the motor dropped in, o it can be transported with the car, ut it will need everything hooked up and torqued to spec to get it moving under its own power (not in running order at current).
It comes with a ton of paperwork (pictured) - most motor swap parts were purchased through gbodyparts.com out of Bethel, C in 2011.
Parts listed from previous are included on list: TA-44 turbo, " stainless downpipe, 6-87 IAC, orted throttle body, 24 billet g-body roller cam, ot Wire fuel pump, .1 block (upgraded from the factory 3.8L 231 cubic inchV6), JC girdle, illet mains, cat crank, agle rods, iamond forged racing pistons, RP hardware, JC deep sump oil pan, lky kit, etco 6.5 gallon alcohol fuel cell, 0 lb. injectors, hampion GN1 ported & polished heads, edestal mount, olid lifters, uilt TH 200-4R (previous owner states rated up to 650-700 hp), -into-2stainless steel 3" exhaust running through free-flowing mufflers (looks to be Flowmaster, nknown series), pgraded beefy radiator, Gauge A-Pillar Pod cluster, ots of stainless steel braided lines.
I will also include a bin of original parts: heads, alve covers, nd oil pan. Also a couple boxes of new gaskets and brake pads are included. Turbo, ntake, eaders, igh flow cat converter, pare tire, tc. - are stored safely in the trunk. Again, rom what I can see, verything is here - but needs to be put together.
This car has had a repaint in it's life as seen on the lower portion of the doors above the rocker panel, tasteful fading checkered flag. I personally like it, ut you'll have to decide. The paint is a 10 footer - great for daily driver quality, ill need redone tobe displayed atcar shows. It has a scratch on the trunk lid thatwas touched up and the hood needs some love too as itshas some paint peeling. Rest of car shows no signs of bubbles or rust from my walk around. Previous ownerepoxied on some 1987 GNX fender louvers, ut original-style, rimered fenders will come with the car for you to swap over, f you'd like. Previous owner buffed the driver's side to show the luster the paint has potential for once cleaned - the rest of the car willneed thebuffed to match. Showsno signs of being in an accident.
Has some near new but older cheaper tires, s (pictured is some dried dirt behind tire from splash in water that wasn't cleaned off before picture, ot faded paint). Interior needs redone, t is worn through on passenger side bottom cushion and top of rear bench and driver's seat.Trunk inside looks perfect, s does underneath. Rear end is stock.
Odometer shows 18,388 - I will assumethe bodyhas turned over once and is being sold as exempt, s I can not verify mileage. Being sold with a clear, ebraska title.
Seems this is a perfect car for someone who knows these rare G-body specimens and has the time, ver the fall/winter,to put it back together or throw it in storage to sell in 20 years. As there were only 2,102 of these made in 1985 - these are likely to be increasingly collectable and sought after (for Grand National fans). I saw 2 of these at drag races this summer, nd when you turn the wick up on them - they really go and are great for out-of-the-box fast and more unique car, ather than a Camaro or a fox-body Mustang.
