This 1955 Cadillac de Ville has been converted from a 2 door hardtopto a wonderful parade car- meaning no folding top mechanism is present with this car. It is a fair weather cruiser- which most convertibles enjoy.
I had an original windshield frame from a convertible, nd all the stainless that it had. Show polished stainless. I removed the roof, nd welded the new windshield frame in place. A new windshield gasket was installed as well. I also have new door weatherstripping for the car.
I am currently looking for a convertible rear view mirror and sunvisors with brackets? If you have any for sale- let me know. I cannot find the ones I bought 10 years ago?!
The rear decklid area has a custom vinyl boot cover installed with snaps. It looks great.
This car had the motor and transmission rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago. The car was store, nd I purchased the car 2 years ago. A tune up was done after sitting for a few years. The carb takes quite awhile to warm up- I was going to change the carb to an electric Edelbrock for more reliability.
The body is in primer now. I left it that way as I preferred the yellow. It is very straight and the only rust is in the back corners of the trunk - 3" holes, asy fix.
The rear bumper ends are in very nice shape and are original
Tires have 90% tread, ut are weather cracked.
I did not receive a radio when I purchased the car. It should have an updated stereo to cruise anyway!
I also have the rocker panel stainless for both sides- they need to be straightend and polished- very long and I have them in a tube for shipping with the car.
Interior has new carpet kit- the seats are vinyl and look good
This is a great looking convertible- call it a speedster!
