1959 Cadillac Fleetwood
Undeniable design excellence.
This 1959 Fleetwood was purchased from the estate of a man who had the privilege to own it since 2003. The previous owner was in possession of the car since 1980. Beyond that, he only owner history is the late owner's wife said the car had been owned by a "celebrity" at one time. I cannot confirm this tidbit.
I would rate this car as "good driver". It runs and drives well, ngine runs very well, ransmission shifts fine, teers and stops like it should. Mechanicals seem pretty good, here are receipts for considerable mechanical work done by the previous owner which I have verified. New front end kit, ncluding ball joints, ie rod ends, ontrol arm bushings, hafts, tc. Front end was aligned. New four wheel brakes including brake shoes, ront and rear wheel cylinders, nd brake hoses. New dual exhaust system. Water pump rebuilt. Carburetor rebuilt. Gas tank was dropped and cleaned. Tires look very good. I won't say this car is mechanically perfect but it sure runs and drives nicely!
The interior appears to be all original. Carpet is worn through at driver’s entry. The dash pad is warped. The car is showing 106,000 miles, he interior is all there and very serviceable but it is NOT "cherry" by any means!
The power windows work, he radio works, he power antenna does NOT work, uel gauge works, utronic Eye works, he power seat "tries" (the motor grunts and seat tries to move, robably needs a good clean and lube),all the doors, ood and trunk open and close nicely.
Okay, hat's all the good stuff. Hop in your '59 Fleetwood, urn the key, nd off you go. You would have to use some discretion but I would rate this as a "drive anywhere" car. I can deliver it 1000 miles of Maryland for a fee as well.
Now that BAD part. It has rust. Not terminal by any means but somewhere along the line it has had some amateur rust repair. It has replacement outer rockers which look "okay driver" but there is rust on the inner rocker panels. It's not structural, he car is safe to drive and looks okay, ut if you actually wanted to "restore" it this area will certainly require serious attention. There is also some "back yard" rust repair in lower front fenders and lower rear quarters. The floors and foot wells look pretty good, don't see anything serious there.
So there you have it. It's a pretty good old car that you can cruise as is, rive anywhere/anytime, r if you want to restore it's all there.....Have fun either way!
