Description

I am relisting my 1975 Eldorado Convertible because I got scammed by an ebayer who did not live up to his obligation as a bidder and failed to make due on his commitment to pay for the item he purchased. So, hile I won't do business with T*n* Al*t*n or EBAY buyer ID "Al*t*n5*" again, also respectfully ask that if you have less than a 100% feedback rating or are new to ebay, hat you contact me via ebay messenger prior to bidding. Additionally, lease do not bid if you don't want to own and are not prepared to actually fulfill your obligations as a buyer if you do win. I know that I shouldn't let one bad egg sour me on ebay but it is no fun dealing with this sort of stuff and it is costly as sellers have to pay seller fees and repeat insertion fees when things sell even if they never get paid for so each time a bad ebay buyer scams a seller, he seller loses money, ime, pportunity and potentially other buyers that would have been interested......
That said, his is a really fun Eldo Convertible and a unique ride that leaves you with smiles all day long!!! BUY IT NOW OR MAKE ME AN OFFER! My wife says one of the toys has to go...so the buy it now price is thousands of dollars below the most recent Hagerty Valuation Index Price for a car in Condition 4!!! Go ahead....buy it now....or why not submit an offer??? You might be pleasantly surprised with my response!!
With a heavy heart, am offering up a Bully '75 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. This is a tremendously fun Eldo convertible and one of the last of the big floaters! This car is an eye catcher and it is impossible to drive without getting lots of thumb's ups, equests to share information and requests to take pictures with it. This car is NOT for shy people. It makes a statement with a factory length of about 18.7' and a bit of extra length provided by the huge steer horns attached to the hood with very strong, igh quality wrought iron. The color combination is great for anyone looking for a mid-70's Eldo in a unique color (don't you get sick of all the white, ed and black caddy's?) and is particularly fitting for anyone with connections to the University of Texas as this is the ultimate in "Hook 'em Horns" pride. What a fantastic ride for a fraternity, lumni association, r for the current student looking to travel in style and with all his/her friends! And, his is a great cruiser for any Caddy enthusiast or family looking for that special ride to take the ice cream parlor, nter in parades or just have fun cruising in style!! This is a massive 6 seater with plenty of room for all your friends and luggage!
This is not a perfect show car. It appears to have been repainted in its original mandarin orange color 1x before and shows some age but still presents well. The leather interior is also in "ok" shape with two tears in the drivers seat (one on seat bottom and one on seat back) and a tear that was repaired once in the middle of the rear seat at the top. Otherwise the leather is really in quite nice shape and looks real nice. It came to me without the heat or AC and the clock does not work. The radio/8track works "sometimes" and the car will come with an 8track of Elvis. The power locks work, ower windows work though the rear right quarter window is off the track right now (all parts are there, t just skipped the track recently). The power "scissor-style" top goes down effortlessly but sometimes needs a bit of help coming up. It is pretty heavy, fter-all. The top is in decent condition but does have 1 tear about 5-6" long on rear drivers side in the same spot that seems to plague these GM big boats. I do have a new top in the trunk ready to be installed. The power antenna does not work right now and I have never tried to fix it so it might just need some grease. As for other known imperfections, he passenger ash tray cover is present but does not stay closed and in addition to the seat imperfections noted and shown in pics, here is a tear in the drivers side door card vinyl. The steering wheel is in ok shape but some of the "wood inlay" has cracked off. The car generally runs pretty good but sometimes idles rich. Normal leaks present relative to oil and trans fluid. The horn is currently disconnected and the speedometer just started acting up a bit. The car has great power seats, djustable mirrors, "remote" trunk release in the dash, oft-close trunk deck, n outside thermometer built into the drivers side-view mirror, ainted hubcaps, nd the rare fiberglass color-coded parade boot is present and really finishes off the car nicely. I have added a new 12v receptacle to power a phone charger or other accessory and the car will come to its new owner with an original owners manual and a very nicely crafted outdoor car cover big enough to keep this land yacht under wraps.
This is a really fun ride and is definitely not something you see every day. I've tried to describe the car as accurately as possible. Please feel free to inspect and ask questions. the car is offered for sale without any reps or warranties and the buyer will need to arrange shipping. I will try to help as best I can. The car is kept in a garage and driven only on nice days. In addition to the new convertible top that is in the trunk, also have a new drivers side convertible top latch as the one that came with the car is not original stock and a '75 Caddy users manual. Mileage is approximate and I have no idea whether it is original or whether the odometer has "turned." Fun, un car that gets lots of attention and is a blast to drive, how and own.
$1500 deposit due within 48hrs from end of auction. No shipping until full payment received and cleared. Funds due to seller within 3days of auction. I have successfully used Google wallet in the past for easy and cost free ways to transfer funds but can also arrange alternative payment methods. This car is listed for sale locally and through other venues and will continue to be shown for sale and fun at local car shows. As such, eller reserves the right to cancel this auction at any time, or any reason and with no recourse. While I have tried to describe the car as best as possible and will gladly answer any questions and make the car available for inspections, am not a professional car guy and I make no representations or warranties relative to the car, ts mechanical condition, tc. Please do not bid if you don't want to own or aren't prepared to fulfill your obligations should you be the winning bidder. Recognize that when you bid, er ebay rules, ou are entering into a legal commitment to purchase that item should you prevail as teh winning bidder. Having been scammed by a bad ebayer once, can now sympathize with all the other sellers who have had this happen. It is costly and takes time to resolve and certainly leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. So, f you have less than a 100% satisfaction rating or are new to ebay, lease contact me via ebay messenger prior to bidding and please do not bid unless you want to own and can afford to make the purchase and follow through.
If you want to end the auction early, eel free to make me an offer via ebay messenger.
More pics are available but due to ebay rules, cannot post the link in the body of this ad. Send me an ebay message and I can send the link to you. The pics in the expanded album that I will send a link too show that the car shines up pretty nice. The last couple of pics were taken after the car was sitting in the garage for winter storage collecting dust and therefore were included to show the car at its worst in comparison to the earlier photos that show it during normal summer cruising time. It will shines up pretty nicely after a wash and wax. Again, end me a message and I can send you the link as Ebay does not allow me to post it in the description.

Here is some General Info about the '75 Caddy Eldorado:

1975 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible
Acknowledging Its Heritage

The ’75 Eldorado was introduced on September 19, 974. Of the 44,752 Eldorado’s produced for the 1975 model year, 950 were convertibles and were introduced at a base price of $10,354 which represented Cadillac’s first foray into five digit pricing. This pricing would increase two times during the model year to end at $10,783 by the end of the 1975 model run. Mandarin Orange was only offered as a color during the 1975 model year.

It would appear that the U.S. auto industry just couldn't get a break during the 1974 and 1975 model years. After Cadillac experienced two record setting years in a row for 1972 and 1973, t got hit with sluggish sales due to the oil scare that caught America off guard just as the new '74 models appeared in dealer showrooms. When the oil scare ended in spring 1974, ales began to pick up again, nly to fall off during the 1975 model year due to the worst economic recession since 1958! While overall sales were better for Cadillac in 1975 than they'd been the previous year, ales of the Eldorado Coupe were up just a few thousand units and the Eldorado Convertible didn’t fare much better, ith an increase of less than 2000 cars. The 1975 Lincoln Continental Mark IV wasn’t doing as well for 1975 either, s sales had dropped from ’74 numbers. Part of the reason for this could be the substantial price increases many luxury cars passed on to consumers. The Eldorado Coupe jumped $875 for 1975 and the Eldorado Convertible passed the five-figure bracket for the first time. With an introductory base price of $10,354, t was priced $917 higher than in 1974. As noted above, ricing would increase to $10,783 during the year.

Part of the responsibility for the increase in base price lies with the new catalytic converters that had found their way onto most 1975 models, ncluding the Eldorado. They allowed engines to be retuned for improved performance as they aided in the clean-up of vehicle emissions which allowed engineers to removes some of the emissions duties engines had been saddled with the last few years. The catalytic converters were expensive, hough, nd that cost was passed on to consumers.

Cadillac and Lincoln both loaded up their personal luxury models with features that had previously been optional at extra cost and that increased the base price as well. That meant things like an AM/FM stereo radio and power door locks were now standard. In a strange move, incoln ended up making many of those things optional again in 1976 in an attempt to offer the lowest possible base price, ut it really didn’t matter much in the long run as most luxury car buyers opted to equip their cars with them anyway. Psychologically, hey probably thought they were getting a better deal with the more affordable base price.

Part of Cadillac’s efficiency included offering owners a high resale value at the time of trade-in, s well as low maintenance costs during their time of ownership. Cadillac led the luxury car market in owner loyalty at the time, s it had for many years, nd there was a growing trend for original owners to retain their cars for a longer period of time which may have had a small impact on repeat sales each year. Eldorado recognized and acknowledged its heritage in 1975 by refining its styling to better reflect the first generation Fleetwood Eldorado that dated back to 1967. Few would disagree that the original styling was one of General Motors finest styling efforts ever. It ranks right up there with first Cadillac Sixty Special Sedan and Coupe deVille, he 1963 Buick Riviera, he 1963 Corvette, nd all the other legendary designs that have come forth from GM over the years.
