This is a 65 year old car, nd it has a story:
My mom bought this car brand new in 1950 for $1800. It had a fairly hard first couple of years, arked outside as she finished her degree at UC Berkeley. Her dad had an accident with it (its only accident) and you'll see the visible paint difference on the left front fender. But from 1952 on, t was a garage queen in the house my parents bought that year. It's been a garage queen ever since. I used to drive it to high-school, nd when I moved on to other cars, t got parked in the garage again in 1982 and never touched since. "It ran when I parked it" 33 years ago.
The good:
1. Original paint except for left front fender.2. Original dash with original paint and absolutely NO dust behind thegauges.3. Complete original chrome inside and out except for one missing interior door piece.4. Tires hold air for rolling around, ut please don't drive on them!5. All locks, atches and roll-up windows operate easily.6. Original headliner in perfect shape except for water stains in rear.7. Body very straight. Will point faults out in photos.8. Stromberg carburetor.9. Original skirts.10. Perfect glass except for a small star crack in passenger windshield.11. Engine runs a few seconds with gas poured down carburetor.
The not-so-good:
1. Original paint is starting to rust.1. 216 engine. Splash lube for lower bearings.2. Said engine was re-built with chrome rings.3. Said rings are sticky when cold, o 6/12 battery/relay hooked up to kick it over. No longer works. No longer available.4. See pics for scratches and dents.5. Bodywork done pre-1952. I heard gramps felt really bad for wrecking his daughter's brand new car!6. Neither the radio nor the clock work. Both quit before I was born.7. Engine doesn't run beyond a few seconds with gas poured into the carburetor. I have not even tried putting gas in the tank or fuel system.8. The brakes don't work at all.9. Rotten front seats10. Rear window leaks and the headliner has water stains.11. Difficult to roll. Stuck brakes? Bad wheel bearings?12. Will have to be flat-bedded out.13. Fuel and electrical systems are up to you!
