Description

CUSTOM BUILD FOR TOWING RACE CAR.
I BUILT THIS AROUND '96 FOR TOWING. EVERYTHING THAT SHOWED SIGNS OF WEAR WAS REBUILT OR REPLACED. TWO OR THREE INJECTORS LEAK, OTH BEFORE AND AFTER THEY WERE SUPPOSEDLY REBUILT. (NOT THE FIRST SET OF SO CALLED REBUILT, EAK AND FLOW TESTED UNITS THAT ARE FOR CRAP) I DRILLED A VERY SMALL HOLE IN THE REGULATOR TO LET THE PRESSURE BLEED BACK TO TANK. THERE'S A RED BUTTON ON THE DASH I PRIME THE ENGINE WITH FOR A QUICK START, ETTER THAN WASHING THE CYLINDERS WITH LEAKING INJECTORS.
MY BEST BUDDY SOLD HIS 58 VETTE TO BUY THIS VAN NEW FOR HIS WIFE AND FIRST BORN SON. AT ABOUT 100,000 THE OLD V6 STARTED SMOKING, AD PLANNED ON REBUILDING IT BUT HAD TWO CRACKED RINGS(FROM THE FACTORY) AND HAD BAD CYLINDERS. HAD A TPI 305 FOR ANOTHER CAR THAT GOT SOLD SO DECIDED TO PUT IN THE VAN. ANOTHER BAD FACTORY ENGINE, ANY 305'S CRACK FRONT TO BACK MID WAY BETWEEN DECK AND CAM. SO ENGINE CAME OUT OF A WRECKED '88 IROC WITH 60,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS A 350 TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, EVER PULLED THE HEADS, UT DID INSTALL NEW CRANK AND ROD BEARINGS AND SEAL ALONG WITH STEEL TIMING SET. EXCEPT AIR CLEANER AND CATS ALL IROC FACTORY ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION CONTROLS MAINTAINED. VAN HAS ABOUT 200K MILES, NGINE ABOUT 160K. USES NO OIL AND NO FUNNY SOUNDS. FACTORY OIL COOLER(AT OIL FILTER STYLE) IN PLACE.
I WAS IN A WRECK WITH VAN IN '99. AC CONDENSER, OMPRESSOR AND LINES TO AND FROM WERE REMOVED. ALL THE WIRING AND OTHER FACTORY AC STUFF STILL IN PLACE. REPAIRED VAN WITH ALL NEW GM PARTS. I DOUBT ANYONE COULD FIND ANY EVIDENCE WAS EVER IN A WRECK. DRIVES 100% AS IT SHOULD. EXCEPT FOR THE SUMMIT BRAND MINI SPOOL RATCHET LOCKER REAR, T WORKS GOOD, BIT NOISY AND CAUSES VAN TO OVER/UNDER STEER WHEN CHANGING SPEED WHILE TURNING.
MSD TIMING CONTROL, DLE CONTROL, NBOARD COMPRESSOR FOR AIRSHOCKS, IRED FOR ELECTRIC BRAKES, RETHANE BUSHINGS, WIN FLOWMASTERS. PLENUM ALLOWING FOR INSTALLATION OF MAF WAS BUILT BY ONE OF THE EXPERTS FROM JUNK YARD WARS. ALL WORK DONE IN PROFESSIONAL MANNER WITH NO BACKYARD SURPRISES.
KINDA HATE TO PART WITH YELLA. DON'T RACE ANYMORE, ON'T IT DRIVE IT MUCH ANYMORE AND NEED THE SPACE.
