We started this project with the intent to build a stock two door 55 Chevy. The car had been taken apart when we bought it, o some stuff may be missing. The front seat frame is there and we have blasted and primed it. Other parts are in a box, ee pictures. This was an Arizona car and the floorboards and rockers were all original with some surface rust but no holes rusted through. The body has been blasted inside and out and the body work done professionally. It it is ready for final sanding and paint. The front clip was blasted and fenders primed and inner fenders also painted black. The clip was perfect other than some bondo work still to be done on the right fender. Hood still needs primed. We use a zinc etching primer for the first coat. The issues with the car when we started were that a section of the trunk floor was cut out and the shocks were attached to the frame instead of the body. Also at some time in its history the right rear quarter panel was poorly replaced.To correct these issues we used a piece from a donor car to repair the shock area back to stock and we re-did the quarter panel work so it looks like original. Door and fender gaps are all perfect. The body is solid and ready for final sanding and paint. A lot of money and work spent to get to this point!
The frame has been blasted and painted and all ball joints, teering joints, rakes, rake lines, ew style spindles and bearings, ngine and body mounts - everything that could be replaced was replaced. All the best of Danchuck parts. Over $2100.00 dollars worth of parts. There was no rust or damage to the frame. Frame and body numbers match.
All the work was done by a professional body man. The expensive and no fun part of the build has been done. This will be a fun project to finish! You can finish the build the way you want.
