This nasty big block 1973 Camaro Z/28 is the Camaro GM wished they could build during the dark days of the '70s. With a thundering 454 delivering the power, great stance, nd that Hugger Orange paint job, his is a Camaro that is every bit as potent as it looks.I don't know what it is about this Camaro, ut it looks downright predatory crouching in our showroom. With a perfect stance and RS trim, ncluding the big grille and smaller bumpers, t's a sinister piece that is more than just a pretty face. The bodywork is quite well done, nd the second-generation F-body always looks fantastic with chin and deck lid spoilers. There's also a massive cowl-induction hood that emphasizes the car's nose-down profile, nd white SS stripes were painted on, ot decals, o they look great and offer a smooth finish. One glance down the flanks will convince you that this car is ultra-straight with expertly rendered bodywork, nd the finish quality is very good, ith only a few minor signs of use. This is a real RS car, o the little round parking lights look right on either side of the blacked-out grille, hich wears a Z/28 badge for effect. The chrome and stainless trim is in very good condition as well, iving your eyes a place to rest after all that brilliant orange paint. This car also delivers awesome performance, o you're gonna need those deeply bolstered racing buckets and 4-point G-Force racing harnesses. They're a neat fit in the Camaro's passenger compartment, iving it a road-race look but all-day comfort for long cruises. New door panels and carpets were fitted, nd the shifter for the 4-speed is a Hurst unit with a cue ball knob. An array of Auto Meter gauges was fitted into a custom gauge panel, nd there are secondary switches down low for things like the electric fuel pump, ater pump, nd dual cooling fans. In true road-race fashion, here is a 4-point roll bar, ut it still allows access to the neatly upholstered rear seat, s long as you're limber. A powerful Kenwood AM/FM/CD head unit has been fitted in the dash and sounds amazing, lthough you'll probably prefer the stereo sounds of the exhaust instead. The trunk is fully carpeted and includes the amplifier for the stereo system as well as a relocated battery.Stuffing 454 cubic inches of big block V8 in just about anything will make it fast, ut the finely tuned engine in this Camaro is beautifully done. It starts quickly and rumbles through the twin exhaust pipes like a caged animal. It's a neat fit in the F-body engine bay and looks combat-ready thanks to details like the aluminum valve covers, pen-element air cleaner, nd braided stainless lines for the fuel system. It also includes power steering and brakes for easy cruising, lthough the engine's cam is so big that it uses an auxiliary vacuum tank to assist. Long-tube headers feed a custom Flowmaster exhaust system that tucks up under the chassis so there are no ground-clearance issues. The 12-bolt rear houses 3.08 gears for easy cruising, nd it hooks up thanks to a Posi limited slip. To hook it up, here are traction bars on the rear springs, lus a set of subframe connectors to reinforce the tub. Chrome Rally wheels with spinners work perfectly on this black Camaro, nd wear staggered 245/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear BFGoodrich radials. With a heck of a lot of bite to back up its gorgeous bark, his Camaro is a screaming performance bargain.
