Staying under the hood, e’ll look at the details. The Chevrolet Red paint is correct for early ’57 cars with 2x4bbl induction, nd covers the entire motor including upper generator strap and bottom mount. That generator is the correct Satin Black with correct bare aluminum end plates and one of two resistor capacitors for the AM radio. Correct reproduction fuel lines attach to the carbs, he bronze element glass fuel filter, he restored fuel pump, ew lines with correct bolt-on fittings and a new tank and sending unit. The “batwing” air cleaner assembly is original and is refinished beautifully with new paint and correct decals. Correct, ed boot spark plug wires (dual Quad and FI only) connect to a correct black cap atop the correct distributor with the second resistor capacitor. Original pulleys drive the belt, eproduction GM hoses with proper spring clamps carry the coolant while correct green and red oxide clips hold the wiring harnesses. The hood hinges are properly cad plated with gloss black springs. The horns sound loudly and are correctly gloss black. A new Antique Auto Battery sealed yellow cap tar top battery replaces the messy original and connects to the motor via reproduction battery cables. The copper ground strap is correct for an AM radio car. The exhaust manifolds are properly bare iron, ith the passenger side having the heat choke tubing. The correct bare iron Delco master cylinder is in place, s well as the metal cap. There is a correct yellow inspection mark on the bare cast iron steering gearbox. Spark plug wire shields are visible from below, s is the correct starter, anister oil filter and correct date coded three speed manual transmission.

Continuing Underneath, the frame is stunningly straight and smooth, inished in chassis black. The floor pans have been massaged, pot filled and sanded perfectly smooth before receiving their coating of red primer with a hint of black overspray from up top. A proper reproduction exhaust, n stainless for a worry free lifetime, s properly bent, eatures proper mufflers and ends in correct turn downs. Spiral shocks are at all four corners, long with proper and marked coil springs. Inspection marks cover the rebuilt front steering components, oth suspensions, he driveshaft and rear axle. Brake and fuel lines run outboard of the chassis as is proper for a dual exhaust car. The differential is the proper code AA unit, ate coded 9/26/56.

The first thing you notice when you walk up to the car is the straight black lacquer paint job. Bear in mind, here is not a SINGLE reproduction part on this body. This 57 was restored over a ten year period, sing all original or NOS parts. No Danchuck stuff here! Every piece of stainless trim is perfectly straight and shiny. The chrome from bumper to bumper is brilliantly finished in triple-plated show chrome. Restored emblems in gold are perfect; the quarter panel trim panels are perfect. The door gaps are perfect; panel fits are perfect. Everything closes with solidity and sureness. Proper lenses and T3 bulbs are in perfect holders and housings. This is a jaw dropping car… this is a 999 out of 1000 show car in National competition!

Perfection follows inside. The dash is perfect, ll light work and the gauges are beautiful with their correct for 1957 florescent needles. AM stations come in even inside my building. The clock has been rebuilt and retains its original movement and has not been converted to quartz, eaning the stuttered movement of the hands is correct. The seats are gorgeous and comfortable with all new padding. New loop carpeting is at your feet; a new red headliner covers the ceiling. All window cranks, ll door handles and all switchgear chrome is perfect. Black as original, he parking brake handle activates the rebuilt brake, he trunk is also immaculate, ith a correct trunk mat, he correct jack and the correct spare tire, emi-gloss inside as correct, s mounted properly. Insulation on the inside of the trunk lid has black overspray as correct.

Restoration History:

Mike Castle purchased the car in 1969 as a real dual quad car with original drive-train and body. He put it away to restore one day. Mike was selling a 1956 and Jerry was looking for a 56. Jerry found out about the 56 Mike had for sale after a friend attended a CCCI event where Mikes 55 scored 1000 points out of 1000. Jerry saw the 57 that Mike had stored away while inspecting the 56 and a deal was struck for the 57.

Jerry took the car back to Littleton CO, suburb of Denver, nd began amassing NOS parts to restore the car. The original engine and transmission were rebuilt. Gary Cecilia, a 55-57 expert), ainted the car in correct lacquer, ith no clear. Auto Weave of Lakewood, O did the interior. The car was finally completed in February, 003.

The car competed in four ISCA indoor events in late 2003 and won Outstanding Restored Car in all four events. In 2004, he car competed in ten indoor ISCA events and won Outstanding Restored Car International for 2004 (top car for the year). It also won the coveted Cassey Award in 2004,

the only restored (non-custom) car to win the award in the 27 year history if the ISCA.

In 2005, he car competed in one outdoor event, t the Super Chevy Show in Denver, olorado. The car was placed in the Gold Class and won Best of Show. The BelAir was then tucked away and never shown again until Robert Agee purchased the car in 2008. Robert has won many awards as shown in the history above.

This is truly a spectacular 57 Chevy and certainly a rare opportunity to own the car.

I can pick you up at the Augusta GA airport or the Thomson GA (small aircraft)…on almost any day except Sunday.
