1983 Camaro Z28This Camaro Z28 was purchased with approximately 94 thousand miles. When the car was purchased I replaced nearly everything on and in the car including a complete new engine and interior. I painted the care black with Plasti Dip to see what it would look like black! Two weeks ago the engine blew (due to what I think was poor installation). Everything else on the car has been very good. A new crate engine will give you a great car. Below is a list of what I have done to the car:
Spent 7800 on custom interior-Custom Interior: reupholster front and rear seats, pper and lower with custom design black leather, ed contrast stitch on steering wheel,-Carpet: Added jute padding throughout, ound deadener on flooring front to rear, ew black carpet throughout-removed and wrapped dash pad (there is a wrinkle on the dash pad)-reskinned headliner (slightly off at Ttops)-Recoverd console lid, hange carpets on side and dyed all black plastic-recovered left and right sail panels with new material-recovered right and left visor-Head Unit 4 custom speakers-auto alarm with two way pager-new seat belts-12 inch sub woofer
Additional Work:$5900 (see receipt picture attached)-Sep 2012: front swaybar end links, ront brakes, ront passenger wheel bearings, il filter change, ear swaybar endlinks, eplaced all belts, reased front end, ront driver wheel bearings, gnition tune up
Additional work: see picture of receipt from Summit-Hedman Hedders-Blueprint GM 383 engine (this is the engine which has blown)
Engine work: see attachment receipt from Twisted metal garage (long list of work)
New Wheels and Tires: The tires have less than 2k on them
Issues: Dash wrap has a wrinkle, ees a new gear shift knob (< than 25 bucks)the headliner is off just a bit, ar has a red paint job now black with plasti dip. This can be taken off with a power sprayer and the underlying paint job is not bad at all for a 35 year old paint job. The first engine overheated and the block was taken out and rebuilt. The engine recently blew. My understanding is there is a hole in the block and the diff shot through the oil pan. A new crate engine and you will have a great car!!!!
Disclaimer: Im not a gear head so I wont be able to answer very detailed mechanical questions. Everything to my knowledge on the car worked fine with the exception of the recent engine issue. I have put a tremendous amount of money and work into the car but just don't have time to re-do the engine.
