I have two Thriftmaster trucks for sale, ne is a 1947 and the other is a 1949.
The 1947 is an all original 3100 Thriftmaster short bedthat I purchased in Oklahoma. the truck is extremely solid and has fantastic patina. the truck is mostly complete and is 98% rust free. there is a small spot of rust on the bottom front corner of the drivers door and the bottom corner of thedrivers hinge pillar (see pictures) The engine is in tact but the condition is unknown, have not tried to get it running. I purchased this truck with the intention of putting the body on the chassis of my 1949 street rod project.
The 1949 truck has been a project of mine for 10+ years and I have decided to move on. I have the frame nearly completed, he frontsuspension is a Mustang II kit with tubular A arms and a power steering rack and pinion and disc brakes. the whole frame has been boxed and I built a custom transmission cross member that can be relocated if a different transmission is desired. The truck is set up to run an LS based engine with a 4L80E transmission. I custom built a two piece drive shaft and carrier bearing support that doubles as the rear cab mount support. I went with the two piece drive shaft because I wanted the truck to sit low and didn't want to have a driveshaft tunnel in the floor. So, he drive shaft is tucked nice and tight to the floor and all the pivoting is at the back of the cab. The rear of the frame has been C notched about 4" more than the factory frame contour and was done using square tube steel. The rear end is a narrowed Ford 9" with MOSER axels, etroit Locker with 3:55 gears, xplorer disc brakes with Emergency brake and the Ford Big Bearings. The rear has triangulated control arms and QA1 chrome adjustable coil over springs. The back half of the frame has been boxed and I have mounted a new GM gas tank for fuel injection that fits perfectly between the frame rails. The frame was built on a frame table and was done with precision to guarantee a truck that drives as straight as an arrow. Front and rear sway bars also included.
As mentioned above, he truck is set up for LS basedengine with a 4L80E transmission. The engine in the pictures is just a mock up block and is of no value and not included. The transmission is a good4L80E from a 2006 and is included. If thebuy it now is chosen I will include a 5.3L engine from a 2011 GMC with 33,000 miles.
The cab on the 1949 is very solid, smoothed the fire wall and installed a firewall mounted Corvette brake booster and master cylinder and a firewall brake booster pedal assembly in the dash. I also replaced one cab corner, ade a transmission access cover where the factory removable cover was located and it fits the 4L80E transmission. I welded and filled in the cowl and side vents. It will need a couple small patches in the corners of the floor and in the inner cab corners. The weak metal areas were removed, just hadn't welded in the small patches yet. I also had the cab media blasted. The dash is perfect and has not been cut or modified. The factory seat shell was removed. The front fender mounting flanges were perfect and needed no repairs.
The front fenders were media blasted and I have made a couple small repairs were there was minor rust. There are a couple very minor dents that still need worked out but overall they are in very good condition.
The hood is in perfect condition, purchased it from someone who was restoring a 1 1/2 ton truck that has a shorter hood and they didn't realize they had the wrong hood till thebody shop had already painted the hood...
The doors I purchased several years ago and are absolutely rust free and straight, ery little work needed, ust new seals etc.
Also included is a brand new set of running boards and rear fenders. I was intending to build my own bed, have a set of new stake pockets and hinges. you would just need to purchase a pair of bed sides, ed front and tailgate. You will also need a set of inner front fenders.
Included is a new complete 15 circuitwiring harness, luminum radiator, illet brake proportioning valve, tainless steel braided brake lines, frontand rear windshield gaskets (original glass in good shape) Good used tilt steering column, nd a host of other parts.
I also have a brand new chrome grill
Wheels are 18" Boyd Coddington 5 spoke wheels with BFG G-Force T/A 235/50 18 tires
Seats are black leather power seats from a Pontiac G8 and are in great condition
Like I mentioned, have been working on this truck for a long time, have invested a lot of time and money (well over 25,000 with the motor). I have come to the realization that it will be another 10 years before I can get it done so I have decided to let it go and purchase something I can enjoy with my wife and kids now.
