This is a fine1956 Chevy with a solid body, no rust and at least near mint condition, overall. This classic has aclean restored engine compartment with a newer small block V8 (originally mfg with a Straight 6 Cylinder 235 cu, because no letter "V" to start of the VIN#), dual exhaust, a newer three speed automatic transmission,a brand new aluminum radiator and a newer excellent paint job (incidentally, itwas originally Chevroletpaint code #696-C crocus yellow & onyx black). It has a substantiallyoriginal interior, but with a newertachometer, newer triple gauges and newer carpet floors. The radio, clock and speedometer appear to be original, but need some work or replacement.Since owing the car, I have installed a new fuel tank sending unit (therefore the fuel gauge works), a new driver side rear view mirror (original round design version), new lens covers for the backup lights andnew headlight bulbs (both right & left).
Please note that this isthe more rare 1956 Two-Ten Delray Club Coupe (Chevy model #2124, cowl tag Style #56-1011A) with only 56,382 produced by Chevrolet, compared to the muchmore common1956 Sedan model #2102 (205,545 produced)and 1956 Sedan model #2103 (283,125 produced).
I have owned this car for 5 years now in central Iowa, and it has been garaged here all of the time, other than when being driven. I bought the car from an Oklahoma seller, and it also appears likelythat the car had been in Oklahoma from when it was new in 1956 (btw, mfg at Norwood OH per the "N" in the VIN#), until I purchased it in 2011 (at the Mecum Auction here in Des Moines in July 2011). It is evident that the prior owners took good care of this classis car, although the actual mileage since the factory in 1956 is unknown (99,999 is entered in the mileage section here, only because a numeric entry here is required).
I appreciate your interest, your bids and also any questions that you might have!
