Description

1962 Chevy II 400 series specifications

This is a very nice car that was put together over many years. No rust as it was all replaced with new metal. The black paint looks 10 feet deep and the body is laser straight. You will not be disappointed.

Sorted and ready to go. I have taken it on two Hot Rod Power Tours. The car is a cruiser that runs and handles really well. You can drive it to cruise night or on 1,000 mile trips. Gets great MPG on the highway with the cruise on. It is a nice car that will hold its value as it was done correctly. Less than 3500 miles since completed.

Engine:

1998 Camaro SS LS1 all aluminum 5.7 liter with 60,000 miles.

All aluminum with Hedman shorty coated headers. Full 2-1/2” exhaust with turbo mufflers exit at the stock location. The engine was dyno tuned at Justune in Independence, MO and developed a best of 309 HP at the rear wheels. The gas tank is from Tanks,Inc. especially for use with fuel injection. Always used 5-w30 Valvoline Synthetic oil and Wix 35356 filter for extra capacity.

Transmission:

It is a 4L60E that has been rebuilt and upgraded to 65E specs. A trans Go shift kit was installed when it was rebuilt. A B&M trans cooler is located just behind the front. The shifter is from Shift Worx.

Body:

The body has new floor and trunk pans, partial quarters, repop right front fender, replacement left door skin, stock rocker panels, replacement ’63 grill. The paint is PPG black with mid-‘90s S10 silver for the rear cove. The car was sealed, sprayed with filler and sanded. Next it was painted with PPG black, then color sanded and then clear coated and buffed. 1963 reproduction grill. Repop front and rear bumpers. Stainless was polished and some chrome replated. Factory green tinted windows.

Interior:

The front seats started out as Lumina units. The headrest was removed before being recovered. The back seat is a factory that has been recovered. The door panels and headliner are stock replacements for a ’63 Nova.

Cruise control is from Rostra. The dash is stock. The instrument bezel was re-plastic chromed and restored.

Brakes:

Four wheel disc brakes with ceramic pads.

Front end:

A TCI front clip is used. Power rack and pinion steering. Spindles are stock ride height.

Rear end:

The gears are 3.42 to 1 and has an Eaton positraction unit.

Heater/AC:

The heating and cooling system is from Classic Auto Air. The factory heater controls were modified to work with the new system. It works great.
