Description

1946/1947 Chevy Chevrolet truck/pickup

I am selling this truck at no reserve, so it will go to the highest bidder regardless of price. This is a completely original, straight, and 99% rust free 1947 Chevy truck. 1946 is in the title for search purposes, as this is the year body style changed.

First of all, this truck was in the same family most of its life. I have a clean Kansas title to go with it from 1953! Theses old trucks were titled in Kansas with the engine number, and evidentially in 1953 they put a new engine in and had the title amended to reflect this.

We brought this truck in from the farm where we purchased it, we lubed up the cylinders and rolled it over a few times, cleaned up the points, and started it up. The longer it ran, the better it sounded. It idles smooth and runs well considering it sat for the last 30-40 years. It has an occasional miss to it, but the plugs, points, curb etc could all use a little attention. The fuel tank will need to be cleaned, as we were running it off of an auxiliary fuel source (gas can strapped to the grill!) The brakes will obviously need some attention after sitting all those years, but, after adding some brake fluid, the brakes try to pump up and work somewhat. Mechanically, in my opinion, this is a truck you could spend a couple of weekends working on, and have a solid driver.

Body wise, this truck is pretty darn straight for being a 70 year old farm truck. It does have a few bumps and bruises, and I tried to get them all in the pictures, so you know exactly what you are getting. The only rust I have found on the entire truck, is on the bottom of the driver door, and isn't very big. The tires hold air, but are very old. The bed on the truck is a hydraulic dump bed, and although I never thought to try it, the old gentleman we bought it from, said it "has a good hoist under it". So I'm sure it works. The glass is all in tact also, so it has helped to keep out the element's all those years. Oil pressure & temp gauges work. Transmission shifts into all gears, has a 2 speed rear end that I believe works, but hard to tell as we have only driven it in the yard. Headlights & marker lights work. And this truck will haul easy on a 16ft. car trailer, as this is what it was hauled home on. If you want something that you can get drivable with minimal effort and enjoy while restoring - this might be the one for you. I have taken the battery out of this for another truck, but we have equipment to load, and will load it for you for free, or, for the cost of a battery (approx.. 75.00) I will put it in and hook up the gas supply so you can drive it onto your trailer, your choice. I am easy to work with and flexible. This is a hobby for me and I enjoy it. Please check my feedback, and you can see I have 100% positive, so bid with confidence. I also want to keep it that way, so please ask any questions you might have prior to bidding. My name is Cort and I can be reached at 620-786-5172. Thank you and good luck.
