By now, you've probably realized your friends at RK Motors Charlotte enjoy finding killer first generation Camaros. The faster, the scarier, the more unique: THE BETTER! Over the past three years, we've brought you some of the most mind-blowing, potent and flat-out nasty pro-tourers in the muscle car scene. And, based on the countless times we've watched these cars roll through our showroom, you guys enjoy them just as much as we do. Then again, how could anyone not love a stylish classic that can outrun, out turn, out stop and out class machines that are half its age and twice its price? Combining the best of yesterday with the best of today and tomorrow, this 1967 Camaro coupe, with its 496 cubic inch V8, modern driveline and custom interior, was built for the enthusiast who wants the absolute best. If you've been languishing at your desk debating a purchase while your favorite F-bodies cycle through our inventory, here's a quick chance at redemption!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Completing an intricate transformation from solid Detroit steel into a lean, mean Chevrolet dream machine, this spectacular F1 displays bodywork that's nothing short of immaculate! The car's ground-up, nut and bolt restoration started with an original Camaro body that, according to its previous owner, had never seen any major rust or significant damage. Once that shell was thoroughly prepped, every one of its panels was carefully aligned to uniform consistency. And when those professionally-fitted panels were close to perfect, House Of Kolor Blue Blood Red was sealed under a mirror-like clearcoat that, thanks to thorough sanding and tedious buffing, perfectly highlights the car's classic American lines. The end result is one seriously lethal showpiece that has major street presence and unbelievable curb appeal!

Zoom in on the details and this custom continues to impress. At the front of its body, a clean billet grille hangs trick combination headlights above a new chrome bumper. Behind that grille, a custom ZL2 hood leads the eye to fresh glass that's framed in original stainless trim. At the sides of that glass, classy chrome mirrors combine with bright GM handles to add just the right amount of flash to a shaved profile. And at the back of that profile, a locking fuel door and Eddie Motorsports taillights split the difference between a seamless spoiler and second, showroom-fresh bumper.

ENGINE

Gaze into this Chevy's smooth engine bay and you'll find 496 cubic inches of naturally aspirated fury! Unlike those homogenized LS motors, which seem to be the only pro-touring builds getting any respect, this Blue Blood Red big block is a pump gas torque monster that's just as comfortable cruising country roads as it is lining up at stoplights. At the top of the sinister mill, a coated Edelbrock 4-barrel mixes wind from a slick air cleaner with fuel supplied by polished fluid lines, a polished Edelbrock filter and a coated Edelbrock pump. That perfect air/fuel mixture flows through a chrome Edelbrock intake to Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, which anchor chrome valve covers under billet breathers. Below those CNC-ed heads, a forged rotating assembly perfectly complements a Howards roller cam and high quality Comp roller rockers. At the back of that cam, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor sequences sparks between an aftermarket coil and loomed Taylor plug wires. Below those wires, ceramic-coated headers funnel spent gases into a large-diameter, true-dual exhaust system. At the front of those headers, a Concept One accessory drive spins a polished alternator and coated power steering pump opposite a polished AC compressor and coated Edelbrock water pump. And in front of that drive, a custom core support anchors a big aluminum radiator between a polished catch can and a large electric puller fan. While this engine's main purpose is to go straight at a very high rate of speed, it's still very impressive to look at. And items like polished hardware, a custom-finished hood and Eddie Motorsports hinges show that someone really sweated the details.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Take a gander under this wicked F-Body and you'll find a fully detailed chassis that mixes new age technology with old school durability. Thoroughly smoothed floorpans wear a clean coat of House Of Kolor two-stage and, save for hours of buffing, are every bit as nice as the car's first rate exterior. At the center of those floors, a proven Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed makes good use of a McLeod Street Twin clutch. Nail the gas and a Moser 12-bolt rear end, which is augmented with an Eaton center section, spins a tough posi-traction differential around 3.73 gears. Stopping is a cinch thanks to four polished calipers and four drilled rotors. Exhaust is handled by a series of 3-inch pipes, which swirl spent gases through Hooker Super Competition Aero Chamber mufflers. At the front of the car, modern power steering complements tubular control arms, Speedway Motors shocks and a beefy sway bar. At the back of the car, a Detroit Speed suspension mixes high quality mini tubs with two more Speedway Motors shocks. And torque melts the pavement thanks to forged KWC wheels, which spin 225/35ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 295/35ZR19 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As. As you can tell by our pictures, not a detail was missed on this Chevy's fully-sorted undercarriage. And every piece, from its Detroit Speed steering box to its Rock Valley fuel tank, was carefully planned and professionally executed.

INTERIOR

Behind the car's solid-closing doors you'll find a custom ultraleather interior that wraps comfortable, two-tone seats in a nice blend of classic flash and modern flair. At the front of that interior, a thoughtfully modified dash hangs Stewart Warner Performance Power telemetry between billet knobs, a Pioneer CD player and Vintage Air climate control. Below that dash, a custom console, which is loosely based on GM's factory-correct piece, centers a sweet billet shifter between hand-formed billet trim and a full array of Stewart Warner accessory gauges. Below that console, high quality carpet rides between mirrored pedals, standard Fisher sill plates and thick, color-keyed floor mats. At the sides of that carpet, two-tone door panels twist billet handles in front of cleverly integrated arm rests. Above those doors, an ultraleather headliner anchors a chrome mirror and small dome lamp between ultraleather sail panels. In front of the driver, a half-wrapped Budnik steering wheel spins around a polished Flaming River column. And behind the passengers, a custom-upholstered trunk features a smoothed decklid.
