Description

For sale: 1971 Chevrolet K10 short box 4x4 in rare Dark Yellow color with factory tach. Truck has been one-family owned until I purchased in April. Have original warranty paperwork and owner card and records. Western high desert truck bought new in dry Central Montana, land of the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus. It has some of the usual lower body rust, but none of the sitting-at-the-bottom-of-a-lake rot that is so often seen on these trucks. Super solid truck that has been cared for, and runs and drives well. Needs body and paint but parts to finish are included. I bought the truck intending to restore, and sourced new grille, grille surround, right fender, front bumper, and rocker and cab corner repair panels. I had the original seat re-done in factory style cover, and had expensive 2.5" Flowmaster exhaust put on. I drove the truck all summer as a work commuter and dump runner. It's a nice truck ready for repaint or use as is till you get around to it. Still has original factory chalk marks under hood.

Exterior: Panel paint was applied over original back in the 70s as was the fashion back then. Needs repaint. Rockers and cab corners have the typical rust, somefiller used ina prior repair.Window frame and body mounts are solid. See detailed pics in Photobucket album below, I have included pics of every area of concern. Easy restore and parts are included. Glass is good and windshield and seal are new. Windshield frame is solid with one surface rust spot I treated with Metal Ready and POR-15, see pics.Right front fender dented, new fender included, hood appears undamaged. Vintage roll bar shown is included if desired. New parts mentioned will be placed in the bed of the truck for transport.

Interior: Nice original with new seat cover. No rips or tears, everything works as far as I can tell - all gauges, lights, heater, etc.Kenwood stereo sounds good. Windows rollup and down fine, one door lock doesn't stay locked.
Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives well with newer Goodwrench motor. Performer carb and intake. Doesn't heat, no major leaks, noises, or smoke. 4x4 works fine. Steering isquiet. Can't think of any issues, other than perhaps fuel gauge fluctuates quite a bit.Truck was originally equipped with an automatic, but original owner decided after driving a friend's 4 speed 71 SWB 4x4 that he liked that better, so they swapped transmissions. I don't have the originalturbo 350, but they are plentiful and if you want to swap it back the truck still has it's original automatic column. Overall good running and driving truck, solid platform for a restoration.

Pricing/Misc: The 67-72 SWB Chevy/GMC trucks areone ofthe hottest models on the market currently. Ever since the orange and white 72 SWB K10 sold for $80k at Scottsdale B-J in January, they have become very difficult to find in any condition. This truck WILL SELL at NO RESERVE.There's $1500 in extra parts and another $1500 in recent work on the truck. There is no buy it now,so bid to win. Remember, all vintage cars and trucks need some work and there are always items to tinker with on them. This truck is 45 years old, so keep that in mind. You are welcome and encouraged to personally inspect the truckprior to bidding.I'm not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I'm an enthusiast. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the truck, just ask! I have many photos of it but will be glad to take more if needed. Please ask any questions you like before bidding. You will be answered quickly and honestly.Transport isreadily available, and definately cheaper than fixing rust on an eastern tetanus truck. Montana title isclear with no liens. Truck runs well, but flying in and driving the truck home isn't advisable. This is a rural state with a long way between towns and cell service is spotty. After the sale, I can store the truck for up to 30 days free, after that $100 per month storage will be due. Buyer needs to get insurance as soon as car is paid for as I will cancel mine at that time.
