Description

Up for bidding consideration is this beautiful 1974 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Convertible,1 of just 4,670 examples produced for the '74 model year. The exterior is finished in fresh and gorgeous medium red metallic complimented by bright, white vinyl interior that shows very well. Highlights include: a strong 400 cubic inch V-8 delivering superior power and a ride that is second to none. This car floats down the road as if the tires aren't touching the ground. This car does not smoke in the least and has been garaged since new. I am selling this car for a friend who has owned the car for the last thirteen years. This car is tighter than the bark on a tree with absolutely no squeaks rattles or whistles. It travels straight down the road and does not pull in either direction. The transmission shifts smoothly, a/c blows a cool 55 degrees, cruise control functions properly, and convertible top raises and lowers effortlessly. Shocks, brakes, and exhaust are nearly new, as well. Factory chrome is excellent and gleams, trunk floor, floor pans, trunk lid, doors and all body panels are rust free. In addition, under carriage and frame are solid and present very well. Tires possess approximately 75% of the tread life and rides very well. While she may not be a trailer queen, she is as strong a driver as you will find. This car is as sound as the day is long. Paint has some chips, previous areas of touch-up and interior has some minor flaws, but that is to be expected after 42 years. Engine bay is exceedingly clean and well maintained and would impress even the most discriminate buyer. If you want a low production collectable that you can truly enjoy and gets more attention than a 20-year-old super model, this one's for you!!! If you want to take a ride down memory lane or get nostalgic at a Saturday night cruise-in with the family, look no further. These time capsules are nearly non-existent and the survivors are gaining great favor among collectors! Don't miss your opportunity to own a slice of Americana without breaking the bank.

I have been asked multiple times what my reserve price is and while I will not state that price, I will say that it is a very modest price. I recently took this car on a trip through Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg and back on a 95 degree day. The traffic was bumper to bumper and the car did not run hot, a/c blew ice-cold and the thumb's up were endless. If you want a top-notch driver and not a museum queen, bid with confidence.
