Description

48 Chevy Coupe, Lifelong California Black Plate car until last year when I had this car shipped to the East coast. Previous owner stated he had invested $20k in the paint and interior work alone. Show quality paint in a later model Chrysler color found on PT Cruisers, does have a couple nicks and a spot near the lip of the trunk that is cracking (see pics). Dash and inside window frames have been beautifully "woodgrained" with paint. The glass is good, the bumpers have been re-chromed and has new chrome lower trim moldings, one has been installed the other is still wrapped up. The remaining trim, not installed, needs to be re-chromed or painted depending on taste. A later 235 6cyl has been installed, runs smooth and quiet. Clutch is good, brakes work, trans shifts (shifter could use some work), New aluminum radiator, otherwise the car is stock. New wide Whitewalls radial tires, new trim rings and hub caps. The original wiring is present but has been temporarily by-passed to simply run the engine. All the expensive work has been done but it will still need wiring, gaskets and seals, along with completing the interior. I believe I have all the trim but can't be 100 % positive. Needs door panels and rear interior panels as well as headliner.
I have decided to sell the Coupe now as it is at a crossroad as what to do next. Complete stock? Build a street rod? or Nostalgia Drag Gasser? If it sells the next owner can make that call. I could really use the space and have several of my cars for sale anticipating the winter and limited storage. That said I may consider interesting partial trade offers. Feel free to ask questions and request additional pictures. Inspections are welcome, just keep in mind that the Chevy is in my barn at my lake house in Maine which is 2 hrs from me, so allow for planning. I can bring the car back to Wakefield, MA. 01880 for shipping as it will be less expensive for most buyers.
