Description

This 1967 Chevrolet El Camino is a great example of this classic vehicle. The car has a 350ci small-block Chevy motor. According to the motor's serial number it is a 1991 crate engine, rated at 290 bhp. The engine is mated to a 4-speed Muncie manual transmission. This El Camino is in fantastic mechanical condition and decent cosmetic shape.
Cosmetically, the bodywork has quite a few small dings and scratches. There are also some signs of rust in a few places on the bodywork, but the structural frame is sound and rust-free. As you can see from the pictures, the car looks great from ten feet away, but it is clearly a nice driver, not a show car.
Approximately 500 miles ago, the car was professionally serviced and had all fluids changed, including engine oil, gearbox oil, differential oil and brake fluid. New billet aluminum valve covers and valve cover seals were installed. New BFG Radial T/A tires were installed. Belts, filters and the differential pinion seal were also replaced. The only known mechanical issue is with the odometer, which is stuck on 18k miles. I believe this can be fixed with a new cable. The odo was not working when I bought the car, so I haven't bothered to fix it because the mileage was not known. Instead I've just focused on making sure the drivetrain was well-maintained and in good functioning condition. Overall, the car starts easily, drives nicely, tracks straight and shifts smoothly.
This car also has a few interesting features. The interior has been slightly modernized with 3-point inertia-reel seatbelts for added safety and power-adjustable heated seats from a Lexus GS. The seats may seemsacrilegious to a purist, but it feels great driving this beautiful classic car through town on a cool evening with the windows down and the heated seats on. The power for the seats was wired according to the Lexus wiring diagram, using the Lexus OEM switches (installed in the dash, in place of the ashtray) and powered through an aftermarket relay and fuse box. Wiring diagrams will be provided with the car. Also, note that the original Chevy seat mounts are still intact, so if you'd like to install the traditional bench seats, that can easily be done.
Feel free to message me if you need any other information and I will do my best to provide it. Thanks.
