This sharp looking 1958 Chevrolet Delray is for sale in our Louisville Showroom. The Chevrolet Delray, named after Delray Beach, Florida, debuted in 1954 as an optional trim level on 2 door models of Chevrolet's mid-range 210 series of full-size car. In 1958, it became a distinct series of its own at the bottom of Chevy's lineup (replacing the discontinued 150), and added a 4-door sedan, and sedan delivery, but it only remained in production for that model year. This Delray has been done in a Quasar Blue Metallic paint scheme that is in great shape. The big chrome bumpers look new, because they have been re-chromed and give this Delray a nice 50’s look. The Steel wheels have been colored matched to the rest of the car. The front end has been slightly lowered to give it just the right stance. All new ball joints, A-arm bushings and rear axle bearings have been installed to make sure this Chevy Delray rides as good as it looks. Under the hood is the original 348 W series V8 engine, with a tri-power set-up, that came with this beautiful Delray. A new radiator has been installed to insure the 348 big block stays cool while cruising down the highway or crawling through stop & go traffic. To insure plenty of fuel is fed to the 3-deuce set-up, an auxiliary electric fuel pump has been added. The 348 V8 has been rebuilt with new internals and balanced. The water pump, generator/power steering pump, starter and all three carburetors have been rebuilt. Backing the 348 Big Block V8 is a 3-speed close ratio manual transmission. The transmission has a new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. There end has been rebuilt with a new Eaton Posi unit with 3.55 gears. Between the tri-power carbs and the gear ratio in the rear end, this little sleeper car will open a few eyes up, as all they will see is your tail lights. The current owner also replaced the floor pans, so this car is just as solid as it would have been in 1958. To make this Delray as safe as is possible, new brake lines and power steering hoses have been installed. It is the attention to such details that make the difference between a nice car and a great car to drive. Inside the interior is very discreet with only seat belts, a tachometer, an oil pressure gauge, and a switch for the electric fuel being added to the otherwise stock interior. Options for this 1958 Chevrolet Delray include; AM/FM radio with Cassette Player, Hub Caps, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Cloth/Vinyl Interior and radial tires.
