Description

I get thumbs up every time this car is out of the garage. Corvairs have a unique and quirky cult following.....and Corvair owners are generally a diverse group of fun people. The previous owner did a bunch of work to this beautiful car. He redid the entire interior and it is in perfect condition. It has older tires on Crager rims, all in excellent condition. The original 140 motor was replaced with a 110. It has an automatic transmission. It shifts fine but loses fluid- a common Corvair issue.
I'm not a Corvair guy but liked the car and bought it on a whim. I have invested an additional few thousand into her..... I just had the front end redone $800, tie rod ends, bushings, etc.....had the carbs rebuilt, replaced the old gas tank, points, plugs, wires, rebuilt the distributor, etc. Although it has had a bunch of work done to it, it still needs to be "dialed in". Some of the issues I have noticed are an intermittent starting issue (ignition or wire), needs a $100 motor mount, needs window seals, a new motor compartment seal, and a few of the motor tins are missing......

If someone is looking for a fun car to wrench on, this is the one. There are many Corvair clubs and tons of free resources online. It is an economical car to drive and repair. I have several other cars in my collection and need to sell one to continue with the restoration of the others.
The car is in San Pedro and available for viewing. It is also listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Successful buyers must pay $1000 deposit within 24 hours. I will assist with shipping after paid in full. Thanks, Troy (310) 227-9314
