By 1969 the writing was clearly on the wall that the horsepower wars were quickly coming to an end. They would carry on for a couple more years, but with a few notable exceptions, they had pretty much reached their peak by the end of the 60's. And it certainly was going out with a bang! In '69 you could basically build any kind of 4-wheeled rocket you wanted! From high-winding small blocks to multi-carb'd big blocks to all out, barely streetable race cars; there wasn't much you couldn't get as long as your wallet would allow it! And, Corvette was no exception. Not only did you have the power available under the hood, you also had fantastic handling to back it up! Something sorely lacking in many of the other muscle cars that The Big Three were offering at the time. Most of which were set up to go very fast . . . in a straight line!
Of the many combinations you could put together back then, the Corvette offered here is one of the best! Starting out with a Convertible, then adding the most powerful street engine available (L88 excepted), 4-spd close ratio transmission, F-41 suspension, Posi-rear end, power brakes, power steering, black vinyl hard top (and a soft top). Add in the most sought after option you could get in '69 . . . factory side exhaust, then completely restore the entire package from top to bottom. What you end up with is one of the most beautiful and powerful Corvette's to come out of St. Louis!
This example is out of a large Corvette collection. The options, color combo and quality of restoration outshine most of the others on the market! Documented with the Tank Sticker.
