Description
Up for sale is a 1967 convertible Corvette. Rally red with a black stinger. Black interior and black soft top. This car is believed to be a one owner car that has not left New York state. It was delivered new to University Chevrolet, Bronx NY. The deceased owner's niece remembers her late uncle letting her drive the car when she was 17 years old.I bought it from the niece as he had no children . Here are some of the options with the option codes that this car has:L71: 427/435 HP engineK66: Transistor ignitionN11: Factory side exhaustA31: Power windowsM21: Close ratio 4 speedF41: SuspensionU69: AM/FM radioI have a partial tank sticker shown in a picture. The body was stripped to bare fiberglass showing an almost never hit body, but at one point it took a small tap to the LH front. It had small flares that were removed. Pretty amazing this old street brawler made it through its younger years pretty unscathed . The frame is very clean and was wire brushed and painted. No parts were removed in order to maintain it's originality. The close ratio 4 speed does match the car, and has the original shifter. The rear is a 3.36 ratio which is not original to the car. When I purchased this vehicle from the estate, I searched the deceased owner's garage looking for more parts belonging to the car and found a bare 427 block, asting numbered 3904351 (late 1966). However, the block had been decked so I cannot verify if it was the born with motor or not. The car has T.I. ignition with dated ignition wires. The car has it's original alternator, headlamp motor. horns and jack . The engine currently running in the car is a 1970 LS6 with the correct 427/435 HP solid liftered cam. The original bumpers were re-chromed to show condition. All of the emblems are either NOS or trim parts. The inside and outside mirrors are date coded. Car has original glass in very good condition, as well as the birdcage structure . The interior is also in very good condition, has original door panels and retains all of the original dash components that are well preserved. The car run and drives excellent with perfect tracking, no rattles, and an engine that pulls like a freight train. Car would not take much more preparation to go for NCRS judging . This car is the real dealUpdates to the car include:All new weather stripping, new Al Knoch seat covers and foam, new Al Knoch carpeting throughout.New dated black soft top 5 new Diamond Back red line tires on correct DC coded wheels.
