BODYWORK/TRIM

Recently built into a lean mean pavement pounding pro-tourer this spectacular Chevy wears a professional rotisserie restoration that features a number of thoughtful upgrades which modernize both performance and appeal. The car a solid 6-cylinder coupe when its transformation began was carefully stripped all the way to bare metal. With that metal thoroughly worked and aligned to better-than-factory fit glossy black base was accented with bright red stripes and sealed in thick clear. And today this national award winner rolls as one eye catching classic that mixes major street presence with lethal curb appeal!

With its timeless proportions and modernist panels the first generation Camaro is an inherently attractive design. And with today's world-class restoration techniques it has become an excellent canvas for any skilled builder to create a seriously nice car. At the front of this clean F1 a satin-trimmed grille centers bright "SS 427" lettering between a custom valance small driving lights bullet-trimmed parking lamps and custom bumperettes. Above that grille a striped and louvered hood hangs a cool Corvette Jake insignia between Corvette Grand Sport fender dressings. Behind that hood stainless-trimmed glass rides between polished wipers painted drip rails and a centered 'shark fin' antenna. At the sides of that glass sculpted fenders complement modern mirrors traditional door handles and custom quarter gills. And at the back of the car a D80 deck spoiler hangs custom Corvette Grand Sport hashing over a billet fuel filler LED taillights a mirrored bumper and a color-keyed tag bracket.

ENGINE

Lift the Corvette-stamped hood and you'll find $14K worth of Corvette V8 that was sourced directly from GM Performance Parts. Twisting 505 SAE-certified horsepower into a massive 470 lb./ft. of tire-shredding torque the lightweight LS7 rumbling between the car's fenders is a 21st century testament to the bowtie division's enduring small block. Founded in GM's very successful Corvette racing program the brutal mill utilizes a forged crank titanium rods and hypereutectic pistons to flat out whip pretty much anything with four wheels. A perfect amount of oxygen flows from a cased filter element through a Satin Black air tube to a familiar GM throttle body. That wind mixes with fuel in a composite intake and progresses to CNC-ported cylinder heads that are built with lightweight titanium valves. Immediately following combustion spent gases roar through free-flowing long-tube headers. Charge comes courtesy of a fresh alternator that like the car's Sanden compressor and PSC steering pump spins a modern accessory drive. Items like a Be Cool radiator GM Performance Parts plug wires a Wilwood Hydratech brake booster and big SPAL puller fans ensure earth-shattering performance. And braided fluid lines a satin-finished radiator cowl and billet hood supports join a color-keyed Corvette-branded engine cover to enhance traditionally conservative aesthetics.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Take a look under this fully sorted panther and you'll find a professionally restored chassis that's clean classy and ready to hit the road. Behind the smooth engine a proven Tremec TKO500 5-speed spins a Moser-branded 12-bolt around Moser 33-spline axles. At the corners of the car a combination of Baer and GM-style calipers clamp four drilled and slotted rotors. Charred dinosaurs float from the aforementioned headers to either large-diameter cutouts or mandrel-bent pipes which hang an X-shaped crossover in front of polished Magnaflow mufflers. Power meets the pavement through $10K worth of custom EVOD wheels which spin 225/40ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sports in front of 275/40R19 Michelin Pilot Sports. Beneath that dash fade-free carpet frames a custom full-length console that's fitted with a familiar Hurst shifter flush power window switches and controls for the car's Vintage Air climate system. At the edges of that carpet custom side panels bridge the gap between billet foot pedals and a custom package tray. Above those panels a sculpted suede headliner centers a small dome lamp behind a billet mirror. In front of the driver a custom steering wheel designed to match the car's EOD footwear spins a color-keyed rim around a satin-finished tilting column. And behind the passengers the car's custom trunk is detailed all the way to its color-keyed hinges.
