Up for auction is our 59 Impala sedan. This car is numbers matching throughout and is a true survivor. It's rare to find a 4 door sedan with the "Impala" package. This car would have been one of the most expensive Chevrolet family sedans available at the time. It optioned with a 2bbl283 V-8 and powerglide automatic transmission. It has FACTORY A/C power steering power brakes spinner hubcaps but was ordered as a radio delete!
The odometer is reading 23131 miles. I believe thisto be actual but I do not have any documentation to prove this. In Colorado all vehicles over 10 years old the state considers them exempt. So I am selling the car exempt on the miles.
The original colors are Crown Sapphire and two toned with Snowcrest White. The car has been professionally repainted and shows well. The body on this car is remarkably straight and rust free. All of the panels are original and solid as well with the entire undercarriage. There are no replaced floors or panels including the rockers and trunk. The bottom of the floorsstill have the original oxide primer and trunk paint. Its never been undercoated so nothing has been hidden or covered up. All of the stainless trimwas re polished when the body was painted and shows very well. The chrome bumpers have a few light scratches but are original. All of the chrome pot metalparts are very nice with no pitting. The original grill is beautiful and retains its original clear anodizing. The glass is all very nice with no cracks or major pits. The original hubcaps with original spinners are nice but not perfect. The original wheels have been sandblasted and painted body color and have nice radial wide white wall tires.
The interior is 100% original and has never been restored. It shows some wear butlooks very decent for being 56 years old. The front seat has some splitsand the rear seat looks really good. All of the carpet still looks nice and has no major wear spots. The headliner is free of any tears but it is discolored in several areas. The dash is niceespecially the lowerImpala trim and A/C vents. Its almost perfect. The steering wheel looks great and is not cracked. The gauges are also original and functional but the clock does not work.Overall for an original interior.... its impressive.
Under the hood has been detailed and looks very nice. The engine was removed resealed and painted. All of the inner wheel wells radiator support and brackets were sanded and painted. The firewall is still the original Crown Sapphire paint. All of the original A/C components are intact and in good condition. The A/C is non functional and I have been told it needs new hoses some switches and a rechargeto get it working again. The engine runs ok and always starts right up. It does not smoke or leak. The transmission is original and needs to be resealed. It works fine but it does have a slight fluid leak. The power steering also works great but the control valve also has a small leak. The brake master cylinder and brake booster have been rebuilt and work good.
Overall this is a very nice 59 Impala that would make somebody a great driver with room for familyor friends. It is definitely nice enough to take to a "cruisenight" or neighborhood showbut I would not consider it a "show car" that cannot be driven or get wet.Its a great car to enjoy!!If you have questions please call me at 303 475-4544. I have been a ebay member since 2000 with 100% feedback. So please feel confident bidding. The title is clear and is ready to transfer ownership.
