Description

A street-eating 1969 RS/SS with a big motor only gets better when its cocooned inside one of the best Camaro bodies ever designed. This is arguably the sexiest Camaros ever made. 1969 took the original Camaro styling and gave it a little more streamline design that includes the unmistakable "kick up" rear fender with an iconic Coke bottle design. It only gets better with the RS package and the blacked-out grille and headlights hidden behind the triple-slot door. We love how the shine of the red rivals the chrome. That's because the paint is barely a year old. This was part of an extensive refresh that replaced many panels. Then the whole car was given a thorough respray and all the major brightwork replaced. Deep paint like this will show if there are any panels out of place. So we could take out the restoration documentation receipts and photos but a bright red like this already stands as the evidence of the quality work. The package is completed with the iconic SS striping on the hood and trunk. Plus it wouldn't be a 60s muscle machine without a nice classic looking set of five-spoke Cragar wheels.Inside it's immediately apparent this is car meant to be driven. Behind the wood grained three-spoke wood wheel is a new set of Auto Meter gauges. There are 10 gauges in total all working so you know everything going on with the drivetrain. The high back black vinyl buckets seats have all day comfort to back up their ultra cool look. The radio has also been upgraded to a new AM/FM/CD unit so you can keep modern tunes going even if you're at a 60s-style car-hop. In fact the entire interior feels like a seamless combination of old and new elements. For example the center console looks fresh from 1969 but if you take a closer look at the gear mapping for the chunky cue-ball shifter and it provides a hint at how this Camaro has been given some contemporary upgrades. The real first hint of the beast living within is the 427 badge on the fender. This is actually a small block 427 that was bored and stroked into big block territory. This mighty V8 was installed less than 30k ago and earlier this year it went in for a major refresh. This included a Holly electronic fuel pump MSD performance electronic ignition rebuilt Holly 750 carburetor and mean Flowmaster cross-flow exhaust whose roar even makes big blocks quiver. The total package has been dynoed to 564 hp. This kind of power is handled by Tremec TKO 5-speed transmission and then sent via aluminum driveshaft to the 12-bolt rear end. The differential does a fantastic job of getting the power to the road thanks to its 3.73 Detroit Locker setup with 31 spline gears. We could go on and on about the performance upgrades (and we'll certainly show you all the paperwork in person) but instead we'll just tell you this Camaro has been at a test and tune running the mile in 11.8 secs running at 115 mph. While the figures already have you drooling you should understand that this Camaro is not just about going fast. You can effortlessly cruise around all day showing off the hot red paintwork if you want thanks to easy-going features like the power steering and four-piston Willwood disc brakes at each wheel. Are you starting to understand that this '69 Camaro has everything? You can choose if you want to be the car show hero the stop light street/strip villain or both. You couldn't have a car as well built as this for the money...call now!!
