Description

1959 Chevrolet Bel AirMild Rat Rod. If you looking for a seriously cool car that is about the same price as a good leather couch then this may be the car for you. It may not be Barrett Jackson material but it gets a huge amount of attention and is inexpensive to own work on and buy. 59 Chevys are skyrocketing in price this one is bound to do the same.Body:The body has the expected rust along with excellent patina. The floors and trunk have been repaired in the past and are still in decent condition except for the spare tire well that is in poor condition. All the glass including the windshield is good the car has the one piece California style bumpers and all the chrome is in place and in decent shape. The frame looks very good.Interior:The interior is complete and has been redone in the past. The dash is complete with the factory radio the headliner and sun visors are excellent as is the rear package tray. The door panels have been redone in the factory style thevinylportions of the seats are in great shape but the cloth inserts have deterioratedlikelydue to sun damage. One arm rest mount needs to be replaced. The carpets have been removed to check the floor and were too faded to use again but they one ebay for around 200.00Mechanical:The engine seems good and transmission shifts into gear as expected. I have only driven the car around the yard but it does not make any weird noises or get hot but I think the carb needs some work as it is cold blooded the brakes are acceptable. The car needs theexhaustsystemredone. I have only driven it a very short distance so I can't give an opinion as to the overall mechanical condition but it is a simple car and if repairs are needed parts are inexpensive. I have the original air cleaner.History:I bought this car from a young family that decided to sell it tohelpfinancean addition on their home. They knew the car from when they were kids and said it had always been in the same family in fact the wife used to ride to school in it. With a limited budget they changed the rims and a little detailingwith intention of completing it as a rat rod for the most part the car is still stock.Overall:59 Chevys are so cool but so expensive in coupes and convertibles. I bought this one because it just looked right. I knew Iwasn'tgoing to keep it and felt that there was a good chance that the next owner would do a 350 conversion keeping me from replacing theexhaustsystem and driving it around for a while.I have a large collection of cars that includes a 59 Impala convertible and a coupe that I'm keeping but I'm starting to down size. The reason its being sold withno reserveis because I'm serious about selling it and if I put a reserve at what I feel it is truly worth it may not sell.Location:The car is located just outside of Salmon Arm British Columbia a few hours from the Washingtonborder. I canhelpfind a shipper and help with the paperworkif the car is being shipped to the US as I am familiar withthe process (there is no duty on this car if it isimported to the US).

Other:This car is sold on a clear British Columbia title.
