Description

For sale is the best handling Chevelle on eBay. It also has better paint than any Chevelle you will find under $40K period. This car is gorgeous and looks better in person than it does in the photos. I understand well the trepidations of buying a car possibly sight unseen and I am happy to talk to any prospective buyer and provide photos videos whatever to put you at ease. If you make an offer and the car is not as represented you are of course under no obligation. Please pleasebid only if you are serious have discussed with the wife etc. This auction costs money takes time etc. Please! I will describe this car to the best of my ability as I have been a buyer and know what it is to get burned and be misled.

The biggest draw of this particular car is the way it drives. The aftermarket suspension changes the whole personality of this car. The Hotchkiss suspension kit and all new front end and steering box (ZERO play) make this car drive infinitely better than a stock Chevelle. Combined with the power steering and power disc brakes it is a pleasure to drive. It drives like a 2014 Chevelle would. It's really amazing but only people used to stock would truly appreciate it. I would drive it cross country tomorrow.

The body and paint are superb. True show quality custom dark grey/silver with large metalflake. Stripes done correctly and a mirror clearcoat on top. Body is super straight and rust free. $10K in body and paint - consider that when buying a car that "needs paint" or WORSE has "driver quality paint". There are a few fine scratches if you really go looking but only the owner of this car will know where they are. The trim and chrome is excellent. Lights all work. Beautiful original undercarriage this was a southern car since new until I bought it last year. Sharp eyed people will notice the 1969 grille - I like it better than the 1968 but it would take the buyer $200 and 4 hours to put a new 1968 grille on it if they don't agree.

The drivetrain is rebuilt. A nice strong 4-bolt 355 (not original) with headers and a beautiful X-pipe exhaust coupled to a firm-shifting 700R4 4-speed automatic give a nice snap off the line and a mellow 2500 RPM at 70mph on the highway. Smooth and strong great sound. The carburetor low speed circuit is a bit lean so it can be a little balky until it is warm. Very responsive on the highway. Runs cool in any weather.

The interior is all new except for a few small interior trim bits like knobs and the "Astro Vent" balls. Aftermarket gages and a tachometer. The glass is excellent. The IROC wheels (18" rear and 16" front) have some flaws but look good at 10 feet. Tires are good. The wheels and tires would be the one thing I would upgrade if I kept the car.

What does it need to be perfect? The car is a factory A/C car with a new compressor but needs hoses and a control module to work. The windshield wipers energize but don't sweep - motor looks new - I never needed them so I did not care. The speedometer was never hooked up. The emergency brake does not work. The horn does not work. The hood springs are weak strong enough to hold the hood up but just barely - and you have to help the hood up. The dome light is broken. I would increase the size of the idle jets in the carburetor unless you live in a warm climate - car was setup in Louisiana. ALL parts are available for this car at ss396 dot com. They are just awesome folks....

The car is registered and insured in my name in CT. I also have a clean blank Louisiana title for the car (CT does NOT issue titles for pre 1981 vehicles - bullshit but it's what we deal with).

See my 16 years of flawless feedback as a buyer and a seller and bid with confidence. I am not interested in trades of any kind. Repeat NO TRADES. Payment is expected in 10 business days with a deposit due in 24 hours. Payment by wire transfer or cash only - I have had enough with checks. I am not broke or poor and don't care if the car sells so please - no silly offers - I will ignore you completely. I WILL NOT sell this car for less than the starting bid - don't ask. Please message me through eBay with your PHONE NUMBER and I will call you if you want to discuss buying transporting condition etc. I have nothing to hide. I truly want the buyer to be happy with this car. Thank you for looking!
