This old Malibu is in excellent shape.First the bad (short list): Minor blemishes in the paint which with some more polishing will be gone 2 rock chips in windshield minor ding in hood broken area in grill (looks like hit a bird) one chrome strip around wheel well scraped heater core is bypassed due to leak minor ding left rear quarter one crack in dash (typical chevy) and dark area on front seat due to original owner leaving newspaper on seat car sat so long that the seat faded around the paper.
Now the good: Interior all excellent overall no stains or rips in cloth seats minor blemishes rear deck carpet is excellent door panels excellent headliner excellent sun visors still tight and excellent except as mentioned all glass is excellent manual windows operate smoothly door locks all work steering wheel excellent (no tilt) seat belts excellent and may have never been used (evidenced by the original plastic warning/operating instructions still on driver shoulder belt I personally have never seen one of these on a car) original AM radio and speakers work perfectly glove box excellent still have all original paper work owners manual warranty papers for battery and original tires speaking of tires still has original Uniroyal GR 78 / 15 spare in excellent shape was on the front when in got the car back in trunk now because it has four new tires (3 miles on the tires at time of posting) trunk area is excellent with original liner in excellent shape original bumper jack stowed properly original sticker with jack instructions still completely intact all weather stripping excellent condition doors still tight trunk lid still tight with exception as mentioned above all chrome in excellent shape even the chrome bumpers paint has all been polished white top is paint not vinyl all four chrome hub caps are excellent (metal not plastic) transmission shifts smooth engine: 305 runs strong no smoke no knocks recent tune up (cap rotor plugs wires filters oil pcv heat riser) 2 bbl carb everything was factory original till I did tune up. AC has been upgraded to R134A and is cold original compressor is quiet and smooth. New muffler and tail pipe. Typical chevy valve covers leak (still fixing minor problems with car) recent coolant flush and fill there are no major leaks from the motor or tranny typical "wet spots" for a chevy but nothing dripping. Car runs and drives great may need new shocks a little bouncy.
